Any company still mailing checks should be a red flag. I would watch the few that do closely and not do too much work at any one time for them. The current ones that still mail checks that I know of are Secret Shopper, Sinclair Customer Metrics, and A Closer Look. Seriously folks get with the times.

This is such BS My check from late November never arrived, nor did my check from Christmas week. I've already called the manager from the November restaurant. Now I'm sending letters with receipts to both owners. Let them know what scumbags they are entrusting their business information.
