Where does IPSOS get their editors?

They must need more, because a route I started 3/29 still in editing Limbo.

I would apply, if I knew where to sign up, lol!

Gas prices recently back in the $4 a gallon range, so working from home would be a blessing

I believe they come from Wordsmith Pros : [wordsmithpros.com]

They are lagging on both platforms.

And yes, it’s WSP who edits for them.
I think this is the correct info.

An editor for a defunct MSC shared her pay rate in 2019; it was $1.95 per report.

I was getting $2-$5 per and $5 was for events/hotel overnight shops. Phone shops paid $1.25. Restaurants were around $2. This wasn't for WSP but for 2 diff other MSCs.
WSP is where some of them are from, but not the majority. And as @shopperbob and @foodluvr mentioned, those rates are pretty similar today as well. I know quite a few of the editors. And they can grab a good number of them and take their time, up to the boiling point. But that boiling point is not our boiling point, unfortunately.
Also, the ones that happen to be good are former shoppers, of course. Because they know. But there are a ton of them who have no idea what we do or what the guidelines actually mean or what the sections are referring to.

Because we have been able to compare the guidelines with the onsite, we can put together the whole picture or even see where the guidelines are incorrect. But those who do not get it ask those ridiculous questions or ask us to clarify or change something or they just mark off. And no one is checking the checker.
So, how many reports are editors working on per day, or in a week, on average? Just wondering if an editor for MSCs can make decent money if that's all they do. I'm not sure I'd want to be at the computer all day long. The good thing about MSing is it gets me out of my apartment (when it's not a raging blizzard outside).

I interviewed at WSP and was told a good editor makes around $15/hour less when it is a new project that you aren't as familiar with or when you are new to editing. They require you to work 20 hours/week.
Just seeing this post but when I had spoke with Carey Medina about editing approx a year ago she said they are paid $2-$5 per edit with a minimum of 100 edits per week to remain active. You can apply directly through IPSOS by contacting & sending a resume to Diane (at least that's who the contact was a year ago). You can also apply for editing through WordSmithPros, who edits for many MSCs.

Yes and no.

Doing loops of red/white/blue conditional reveals and red/black/silver/sometimes orange stops. Some of the formers were into Received status within a few minutes of my submitting the report. The latters typically take a few days longer, but I had a couple from yesterday go to Received before close of business.

Now I'm just waiting for the payment that was supposed to hit yesterday... not sure what is up with that. This is the first time they've not made a weekly payment to me.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
Yes, I have received email notices from them that they are looking for more editors for WordSmith Pros.
I worked from home part-time for 12 years and FT for 3 years after Covid hit. It is not all it is cracked up to be. I love getting in my car and going to shops whenever I feel like signing up for projects or meals.

I have never had a need to know the names of folks who worked at MSC that did any hiring. Does Carey Medina work for IPSOS? Do you have an email address? Also who is Diane? Last name, email address? I have had surgery/medical issues and getting out and about can be challenging at times - but sitting at my laptop is not a problem at all. I would like to investigate this/these opportunities more. Thanks for sharing
wsp does not edit for ipsos anymore according to one of their editors. the names of the editors have all been different the past couple months.

Beg to differ - in the past week I had one of my shops edited by someone from WSP.
The various comments here perfectly illustrate the inconsistencies in the editing process itself. It also was weird to me that they would use WordsSmithPros to edit gas audits since there are hardly any words to smith in those reports.

Is the Wordsmith Pros website down? Has it been hacked? I've tried it using 3 different browsers over the last few days and each takes me to mostly blank pages which, if you scroll down far enough, leads to what looks like a street map of some foreign country. (I'm totally serious.)

Have to agree with FrostyBubbles, this post creates more questions than it answers. Who's Carey Medina? Who's "Diane?" I think some shoppers just assume everybody knows everybody within the industry. Shopping may be a "small town" but it's not THAT small ...
Hey there, I'm sorry I haven't answered sooner. My darn email notifications got turned off inadvertently.

To answer your questions about who's who...

Carey Medina is Senior Vice President of Field Operations at IPSOS and her email is Carey.medina@ipsos.com

Diana Paone is Senior Field Manager and her email address is Diana.Paone@ipsos.com

I'm not sure if Diana is still the one who reviews resumes for editors or not but she could surely point you in the right direction.

Carey is a very sweet, helpful & down to earth lady. She is the one who you generally see doing the shop walk thru webinars, if you've ever watched any of those. She stays on the go though, so I try not to contact her unless it's a VERY pressing issue & I cannot get any help otherwise.

I've only communicated with Diana a few times but she's always been responsive, extremely helpful and very nice. I think she is a multitasker and takes on many roles but it does not slow her down a bit. She is also on this forum under user name D Paone I believe, so you may be able to reach out to her on here. I actually seen a post specifically asking about her on here a few minutes ago and she responded on that thread. You could probably do a reply to her on that thread and get an answer about editing.

Hope this helps some and prayers for your speedy recovery.
I'm sorry, I do this full time for a living so I've had quite a bit of communication with those who can get things done or remedied. I sometimes forget there are some on this forum who do not do this full time or been doing it as long as myself & a few others. I did respond and clarify who these ladies are, hopefully that helps some.
I had three shop edited today by the same editor. One was graded an 8 with no reason, one was rated a 9 with no reason. One was rejected over a picture, which the editor cited a bad source. In trying to communicate with the editor. She said it was unfortunste she could not provide a reason.

I continued the email correspondence with IPSOS included as an addressee. I heard from IPSOS that they would forward the corrections to their training area to correct the error.....

But what about being paid? How about a reason for a lowered grade?

I told both the editor and IPSOS that if a reason isn't provided, then there will not be any improvement. Apparently, IPSOS is not concerned if there could be improvement.

So....their editors can lower ratings without any reason. File that when you request work from them.

I have been shopping for 16 years now....i have NEVER been told it not necessary to provide a reason for lowering ratings.....

I usually do 30+ shops a month for IPSOS, some with the LLC, some with the app. I thought they were a company that valued good shoppers....i was mistaken. I have 8 shops in the next couple days. I am going to have to consider whether or not to decline these jobs.

And i learned 16 years ago, the shopper is always wrong.
