My favorite phone apps including the Starbucks app!

Hi, another mystery shopper got me involved in the phone apps and I really have to admit that I prefer them over the mystery shopping although mystery shopping is till my primary focus. I did post that I would let y'all know the Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/McDonalds/Subway app if you don't live in my area but I ended up giving it out to everyone anyway. So I thought I would share my favorite apps with you all as some of you might really enjoy them too! SOME of these are only available in iPhone but check them out, you may still be able to get them.

Mobee - it's the Starbucks app and if you use my invitation code KXVX (shameless solicitation) then we BOTH get $3.00 when you complete your first assignment. You should get your Starbucks/Subway etc for free but you won't really get much else. I've cashed out and it works great. Your choices are in giftcards but they are good choices. Incredibly simple mystery shop (5 questions and 2 photos). Been doing it two weeks and have already cashed out $100 in Amazon gift cards.

Field Agent - don't know if I have an invitation code for this one or not so too bad. You get 2 hours to do a job so there's a bit of pressure but they usually have lots of choices. Payment is in the form of cash into your paypal account and you can receive it within an hour to 2 days at the very most. Been doing it for about 4 months and have earned $945. Fairly sure this is iPhone only.

Easy Shift - not so much work in my area but also easy assignments but sometimes up to 20 questions. Payment is usually about 2-4 days but I have had as long as 6 days. Money straight into your paypal account. Have been doing it about 4 months and have earned about $400. ALSO this app has a community which has a forum much like this and you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about phone shopping from it. They're also great at answering questions.

Winepays - you go to restaurants and take photos of the wine/beer/spirits menu. If the restaurant has a large menu you can earn as much as $5 at one restaurant. Some people on the community have reported just going into a restaurant and asking for a menu, photographing it and leaving and earning some fairly decent money. It's a new app and I just started so can't report on reliability of payment yet or forms of payment.

Ride - all you do is download and sign up. Then you forget about it. It keeps track of your miles and after 20,000 miles you get a $5 giftcard. Not much I know but since you're doing absolutely nothing it works for me. Particularly since I do routes.

Dietbet - if you need to lose weight then this is an incredible app. It is very reputable and there are nothing but glowing reports on the phone app forum. What you do is make a bet that you will lose a certain amount of weight in a given time (for me it was 6 pounds in 4 weeks). If you do not lose the weight and keep it off by the end of the period you lose your money (I bet $25.00). If you DO lose the weight and keep it off until the end of the period you stand to make up to double your money. I have found this INCREDILY motivating!!! I hate to lose money!! You can join as many as three bet challenges so I did and bet a total of $90 but you can bet more or as little as $25.00. However, having $90 on the line is extremely motivating for me.

Pricespotting - take photos of the bar codes of items and put the price you paid in. Doesn't take long to earn a $5 giftcard.

There are other apps that other people like, but I don't much like them. I'll tell you about them anyway.

Gigwalk - a lot of merchandising. I hate merchandising so I really avoid it. They pay within a week, cash into your paypal account. Payment can be up to $40.00. If you like merchandising then this is the app for you. They do sometimes have mystery shopping jobs.

Rewardable - also mystery shopping style work. Nothing much in in my area but others on the forum love it.

Zapiddy - if you hear about this app be wary. Some people are having trouble receiving payment, others are saying it's been resolved so just be cautious. Mystery shopping style jobs. Payment into your paypal account again.

Thank you! How does DietBet check your weight and keep you from cheating? Never mind. I looked it up.

Thanks so much for Mobee! I am an SB addict and of course am always seeking if they use a MSC. I used your code as well ;-)
I wish you had posted your code earlier! I had to move pass the referral page, before I could see the Starbucks, etc.
I went to McDonald's yesterday and completed the mission. How long does it take for them to post the points? It's been over 24 hours and nothing yet.

Edited to add the McDonald's I did required timing and cashier's name, and it's more than 5 questions.

cubbie it can take up to a week. In the meantime it looks like you've done nothing but don't panic. You can see on your page it will say 'pending points' in tiny writing. I haven't done the McDonalds one but the Subway and Starbucks are very basic.
The future of mystery shopping here :p

Edit: Thanks for the list! I only knew about Gig Walk and Mobee. It could be a useful way to make extra money on routes.

Shopping the great state of California!

Cubbiecat - I think they pay within 7 days. Sometimes faster. My experience is usually 2-3 unless they have released a bunch a shops and they get backed up.

Also, I'll speak up for Rewardable and Gigwalk. I add both of these if I'm in the area. Gigwalk pays within 10 days. Today I was paid within 2 hours but that is very unusual. Many times with Gigwalk you have to identify yourself to management. Right now it seems like they are doing a lot of quick merchandising gigs. I take those depending on 1) if I'm at a location that I won't be MS 2) if it is a display build - I go to the store and see if it is already built - I'm not a builder and if it is I will take it and take the pictures, etc 3) they are offering enough $$$ to make it worth it since some things are $12 for 5 minutes and some are $12 for an hour. I skip the $12 for an hour. For Gigwalk there are weeks I make a couple of hundred dollars from them and then weeks zero.

Rewardable - in my experience it pays pretty quick and the assignments that I have taken are very easy - 1-3 pictures

Good luck to those venturing over into the apps world. If you are in my area - these are bad bad time sucks for no money (JK)
Got a couple of questions - anybody know the answers ?

Re: Easy Shift - is this IPhone only? Can't find it on a PlayStore search

Same thing with Wine Pays, Ride,

Rewardable comes back with "Incompatible with all your devices" ... jeez. Android ICS phone and tablet and can't use it.

Mobee - I downloaded and opened and it wants me to log in (I won't use the Facebook log in) but doesn't give me the option to create an account first - just to log in which of course I can't do without an account. I have a message in to their help dept.
Mobee has gone nationwide.

Yes I think Easy Shift might be iPhone only. Actually I had an Android and then the mystery shopper who got me started suggested I get an iPhone so I could do these apps so I traded in my Android for that very reason and I'm so glad I did. I actually ended up liking the iPhone better and it has seriously paid for itself!

Don't know why you can't login to Mobee and not just create an account. I can't remember what I did.

If you are using all Android devices for Rewardable then it may be an Apple product also. I really don't know since my product is Apple.

I don't know about Winepays or Ride either. Sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps someone else knows.
gogogirl thanks for the tip on Gigwalk merchandising! I'm going to do just that in future! Go into the store and if the display is already set up I'll accept the job!!
Thanks jpgilham

I will just wait and see if they respond, there is no spot on the website to handle the app either.

I just downloaded PriceSpotter and it went easily as expected.

These new Apps are a lot of fun too - I think it will definitely add an interesting new aspect to MS'ing.

I can't see your average consumer being too excited about $1 jobs and don't really think they will be major competition for the work, but for those of us who are in retail / on the road most days it certainly does add a new layer to what we do.

I truly wouldn't mind doing and reporting most of my work via the smartphone and I don't even have a fancy one with a big screen. Time is money and anything that streamlines that process is aces in my book.

I went to a McDonald's yesterday just to see what the required purchase was. I didn't want either at the time so I passed on it but thanks for the info on the form. I did a Cheese display audit the other day and it took two to three days for the points to post.

Your awesome thanks!

Downloaded my first two apps. Hope to try an assignment or two soon. Question... when I see an assignment to take photos of beans and rice in a grocery store freezer case, or photograph the display and individual screens of e-readers at an office supply store, is this meant to be done covertly, or can I just stroll up, take my photos, and stroll out whether staff notice or not? I did not see this covered in the assignment descriptions.

When I did the e-readers, I did it in front of the staff. They were located right inside the front door. No one questioned me although they did ask if I needed any help and I told them no
How long does it usually take Mobee to approve shops? I completed a Starbucks and it was approved on Tuesday (two days after I completed it). I have completed three others (one last Saturday, one on Monday and another yesterday) and none are approved.

Is it just hit and miss? The other three were not Starbucks. They were the cheese audits and McD's.
Sometimes it is within a few days and other times I am waiting a week or more. It is inconsistent. I am waiting for one to be approved from Sunday and its Friday. I got some approved on Tuesday from at least a week before.
Use my code: FVHS for 300 points ($3) for you and me after your first shop.
Thanks jp and pam.

As this topic in general seems relatively new on the Forum, is there an ICA concern re. connecting name of app to name of client? Are any/all/no apps exclusive to individual MSCs?.

I loved Easy Shift. I only had an iPhone for two weeks - I love my Android but in that two weeks I earned $95 with Easy Shift. You just have to really check it CONSTANTLY to pick up the gigs. I also liked ReceiptPal (again iPhone only) - with my receipts I already have to have for my shops I easily filled up the boxes and earned the rewards. I also have Survey.com - you don't make quick money but when you are waiting on someone in a parking lot it is a good way to "waste" time. I also have OnGo Surveys - again not a quick money making app but you do earn money. iPoll is great... when there are missions available. Right now they are paying up to $250 for old iPhones. I love ShopKick and CheckPoints. I am an app freak LOL I am always interested in finding new ones to use so thank you very much for sharing.
It's been five days and my 810 points are still pending for McD and DD. I like Shopkick, where the points are added instantly.

I couldn't work around the FB with Mobee either. I gave in and log in with FB. I never like it when it states they'll post on my behalf. *SIGH* Really, are you going to post my mood for the day for me?

I did a shop last Sunday in San Fran and it has not posted yet on Mobee.
Use my code: FVHS for 300 points ($3) for you and me after your first shop.

Ipoll: I haven't gotten money posted from September 2013. Also, they are incorrect with a money reimbursement as I had to buy three bags of chips ($3.50 each) and they only want to give me $5.
I have 1675 points pending for over a week. Im getting impatient.

Please note the OP shared her code (post #1) for Mobee when she so generously started this thread to share this information with all of us. Thanks, jpgilham!
Does anyone use the CheckPoints, ShopKick or WeReward Apps? I just read an article about them and wondered if anyone had thought. These other ones posted sound great but I'm an android user so there are quite a few I can't use.

Thanks

I can't seem to find the Mobee app for android or iPhone. Can anyone link it if they fine it?
