I have not seen the new rules but if it is allowable you can certainly find some places in zone 5 and above that would love to get donations. I am thinking it makes more sense if you have lots of small toiletry bottles if you do hotel shops. These do not weigh much and a homeless shelter would be happy to have them...a lot of them would fit in under 5 pounds. Food is generally too heavy so I feel the same way myst4au does regarding the food bank...too much work for them to accept all those boxes with one or two cans in each! The 99 cent type stores have big bottles of shampoo , deodorant etc. If you have been purchasing food for the foodbanks for a similar price you could send soap and that sort of thing or send to an animal shelter...they sometimes like to get old blankets and towels. And if each shopper found their own place to send to we would not be overwhelming one address with every shopper's boxes. You can make your neighbors happy by offering to deliver all their old ones for them. Maybe when the new rules are out people in each region can have a thread with names and addresses of a few places like these in their town that those of us far away can send to.

I love this idea.

Please remember that many shelters will not accept toiletries that contain alcohol.

Thanks for all of the emails. I will be out of the office on Sunday for my mother's birthday, but will respond to emails again Monday.

As far as sending blankets, towels, and other certain items, there will still be a weight issue.

This is a great idea. Perhaps we could PM our zip codes or use some other method. You only need the zip codes to determine the zone. Then we could look for a zip code in the right one vs where we live.
Yes, it is an awesome idea!

Older threads use the phrase ''Post Office Buddies." I have three such Buddies that I connected with through the forum and we send packages back and forth.

From what is said in this thread it appears there will soon be a great need for Post Office Buddies in different zones.

Edited to add a new thread for Post Office Buddies is here. [www.mysteryshopforum.com]

No idea WTF X & Y are but hope to find out PDQ who the new MSC is.

They have already reached out...at least to me and to others and there will be assignments on their "job board".
The latest word I have gotten (about 10 minutes ago) is that the survey won't be done before the 24th.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to update us. Very nice of you.
As of today there are still some outstanding jobs in my area for the old current company to finish up. I got an unheard of bonus (for us big city folk where bonuses usually run .25-.50 cents but mostly just a plea for help) on the last C shop left in my 20 mile zone. Of course in one direction the only place I could mail to is the whales. Not you walesmaven, you are too far away.
sandyf,
Thanks for the laugh. I needed that today. I cannot count the times that folks (not on the forums) have tried to address me as something to do with whales! Heck, I cannot even swim.

Glad I could help. I live a half mile from the ocean so one direction does not work for me. My local phone as I still have a plug in phone, only allows free calls for a certain number of miles. I always thought I should only pay 3/4 of the phone bill as I can access 3/4 as many locations for free. Also my driving to shops range only works in 3 directions and not 4. Perhaps I can arrange to send a box of krill to the whales that pass by for my C shops.
so does your wales have to do with the country?

I've gotten some pretty awesome bonuses this week on these shops as well! Woohoo!

Jobs with the MSC have not been posted yet, and apparently will not be posted until late September. So, searching will continue to be fruitless. Contact the scheduler, and she will tell you. Couldn't be much easier than that.

I believe they will be posted in late September for jobs beginning in October.

HI all just an update - things are still planned to launch Oct 1, but the work on the back end (survey, etc) are taking longer than anticipated so the shops can't be posted yet. The schedulers are raring to go and I'll update this thread again once we start posting.

Hi nikki. The convention is to put your identifiers as a siggy line when you are a scheduler or company. Easy to do. In the blue bar at the top click on your name, then go to Control Center, then on the far left 'Edit Signature'. You can pop in your email address there if you wish or just identify as scheduler for Summit.

Glad you will be participating in the board as I'm sure folks will have questions as the shops start emerging!
I will be scheduling locations in the following areas: CT, DC, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, RI, SC, TX, and VA! Looking forward to working with everyone. You can reach me directly at jgladding@summitscheduling.com. Thanks Jenn G
