I sent mine to the old food bank. I called and asked them if it would be ok and they said yes.
I emailed the scheduler about reimbursement. It will be on the check with the pay, they had a glitch but are fixing it now.
Another alternative for boxes is to find a local box supplier and buy from them. I also have to get a bundle of 25, but the dimweight boxes are $1.15 to $1.50 for the smaller dw sizes..I think i can get 14 cubes for a buck, but don't like those as they need too much packing materials to keep the food from rolling around. I do canned goods and dry beans cuz the pasta makes noise.

68¢ for the dim weight boxes? My Walmart is close to $4 for them, when they even have them

wow! mine doesn't have 14 cubes generally, only 16 cube that can be cut down and they are $3 and change. I am going to ask if they can order those you guys are getting..I'd much rather shell out 68¢ than a buck and change!

14x14x14, is 14 cube, as 16x16x16 is 16 cube. It is a very common mathematical term. 14X14 is 14 square etc.
If you don't like what is being posted, ignore it. No need to yell at people and use profanity, albiet abbreviations.

Uh, I have a dim (dumb) weight question. I will be doing my first C for the new company and I noticed the rules said the "contents" should be between 2.? and 5 lbs. For the old company it was the entire box including contents. My box weighs close to a pound by itself and the shipping price for 5 vs 6 pounds is the same. I sent an email but have not heard back about this issue but if some one knows whether we can now go over 5 lbs including the box please let me know. I am shipping to my daughter and would throw in more if I can.
By the way, with the new reimbursement the 14x14x14 now works for zone 7. For zone 8 I am still using 10x12x15.

BTW, the question about the box weight didn't seem that black and white to me. The old instructions were similarly vague at one time and later cleared up - I forget if they changed the instructions or the MSP clarified them or both.
It seems possible to me that someone else might have asked that question of the new schedulers and gotten an answer that could be transmitted here on the forum faster than asking the new scheduler. Maybe the answer is needed for a shop tomorrow morning.
Isn't that what many of us are here to do, ask questions, learn and share information as best we can?

Hi all, I will ask about over 5 lbs and get back with you as soon as I hear.

Trust me, because it happened to me. If the box weighs over 5 pounds, the post office does not require the clerk to measure the box. I didn't get reimbursed (or paid) by the old MSC when I switched from newly unavailable in the store box from Staples to a heavier but available box from Walmart and didn't check the total weight. I subsequently asked several clerks (when I was in post offices which are never shopped) and they confirmed that they do not have to measure the dimensions of a box if it weighs more than 5 pounds.

In my experience the last dim weight I did for the previous regime was over 5 lbs and I did get paid for it. It wasn't a whole lot over (I can't remember the specifics) but it was over and the PO did measure and I was paid.
