Seems like it would be dry. Guess you could put turkey and gravy on it and eat it open faced.

I absolutely can't stand when my food touches other food on my plate. I know it's all going in the same place, but it's a thing I have. I use a fondue plate for most meals because it has those separate sections. However, when it comes to sandwiches, I want all the stuff oozing and smashed together. The gobbler is one of my favorite things from WaWa. My brother in law used to have a food cart in Philly and he made those on his truck 6 days a week. I got one from him every week.

My sister puts jelly on bacon and sausage. It's the same concept to me, sweet stuff on meat is gross so cranberry sauce should never integrate with savory food...I don't like pineapple or maraschino cherries on ham, either, nor Hawaiian pizza, chutneys with meat, mango salsas with fish, etc. But many, many others do, so I realize I am in the minority. Thank goodness my husband doesn't like it either, might have been a deal breaker in our marriage, LOL.
Hey Jenny, I might eat a piece of cheesecake after I eat my seafood pasta, and I too know it's all going in the same place, but I would not mix up pieces of cheesecake into the pasta while I am eating it...
Common these days are bowls with everything mixed in, so Jas and Jenny, ya or nay? I'm pretty liberal about food touching, and usually put a piece of chicken over my mashed potato's or lately Califlower rice giving it a good muush...pasta, red pepper, mushroom under shrimp sounds like a good dinner tonight, off to the market I go.
Too much free time on my hands......you two are funny, I as well would NOT eat Cheesecake in pasta......

Live consciously....
I would do pasta, red pepper, mushroom and shrimp in a heartbeat. I would cook it in a white wine and butter reduction with roasted garlic, and add fresh basil and parsley from my garden, too. But no cranberry sauce in it, LOL!
I don't mind the bowls, in fact, I kinda like the gobbler bowl a little better than the hoagie. I think it's just some psychological thing about the plate. I know I'm weird, I'm ok with it. smiling smiley

I don't like a salad served on my plate with my other food. It needs to be in a separate bowl or plate.
How do you cope with picnics? One course at a time balanced on your knee? Or, are you one of those people who can balance a separate salad and other plate?

LOL I wish someone would invite me to a picnic. I would happily balance every single course smiling smiley

@JASFLALMT I'm so glad I'm not alone on this. I don't like my salad with a meal, it has to be before or after and in a separate vessel. I'm an Army brat, so I've been all over with customs. However, when I was a tot in Germany, you had a salad course at the beginning of a meal. When I was an older tater in Italy, you had the salad course towards the end of the meal, still on a separate vessel. I blame my awesome upbringing.

Jenny, I'm an Air Force brat. I was in Japan, not Europe, but that's another story. I worked in fine dining restaurants when in college...

Shop, I don't do picnics. And at parties, i get a plate with 1 item, usually, then go get something different on a fresh plate.
It's not dry at all, thanks to the gravy!

Today I have a rewards shop for lunch, a garden center shop, brochure replacement visit, a merchandising visit, and a bunch of convenience stores.
Today is a very, very well bonused blinds shop!! Did the phone call already...doing the in-store visit in a couple of hours.
Today buying plants for upcoming fall, then lunch at my favorite Japanese BBQ...great ob, easy report.
Jas....I agree, no salad on dinner plate, dressing ruins other food, and yes, salad first please. My healthy
sandwich shop I do serves salad on same plate as sandwich, and I am flexible enough to enjoy it.

Well...actually, I do like the salad first, but with some cuisines it doesn't work that way and I am fine with that, too. In my house, salad is sometimes an entree. And that's where I am more lenient about food touching, because in my salad I like chicken, bacon, dark mixed greens/spinach/sprouts, tomatoes from my garden, cukes, kalamata olives, mushrooms, feta/goat cheese/shaved parm reggiano, pine nuts/pistachios, and more. It's all touching under the same umbrella of salad dressing. Oh, and my homemade croutons. SMH at myself sometimes and my food idiosyncrasies.

I think if you have a salad on a plate with your sandwich and it's the type of sandwich that the salad works with, that would be fine. And you can always get dressing on the side to make it work even better.

Don't even get me started about restaurants that serve side dishes that don't complement the entree. Ugh.
I love this month's WaWa due to the coffee! I split between the hoagies and quesadillas. I wish they allow the bowl.

During my garden center shop today, I bought the cutest little oregano plant and found a cute, square decorative planter that fits perfectly in my window to put it in. Now I can share my herbs with my neighbors across the street all winter.

Oh, I finally got the invite I have been waiting for all year! The people who moved in across the street last year are from Mexico and we have been shyly breaking the ice for awhile now, baby steps. We have been sharing our tomatoes and herbs with them this summer, and they finally invited us over for a party! I am so excited to get to know them better!!! You all know with the political climate over the past couple of years that didn't make this an easy transition (not trying to start any sort of political discussion here). But I need to brush up on my Spanish smiling smiley

My insomnia shops are typically done after 3am, when I would otherwise be doing something other than sleeping.

Are you signed up for the rewards? I have two waiting for me. They add up fast.

Convenience stores just got released so I am doing a bunch of those, along with a brochure maintenance at Sam's and a merchandising job at a grocery store.
Honny, You sure get a lot of Wawa's. Wish there were more up here in North Jersey. Are they the ones where you need a scale and thermometer? I like the buy a sandwich ones, but don't do the weighing ones.

Ms. Judy, these are hoagies and coffee only. No weighing is involved.
