I giggle and get very happy when I drink. I try to be moderate and not bother anyone, though.

I'm a happy drunk too. I just don't like the way it makes me feel.

The moving truck came to our house today. After our furniture was loaded up, Hubby followed the movers to the condo. I stayed behind with the cat (because we didn't want him in an unfamiliar place when the door was being opened and closed). I wandered around the empty house where I spent 27 years of my life. It was bittersweet.

When Hubby called to say the coast was clear I put the cat carrier into my loaded car and drove to my new home. Met some neighbors for the first time. Carried things up and started putting them away. Made my bed and tried to find the box I put my socks and underwear in. Encouraged the shell-shocked cat to come out from under the couch. Heated up the Chinese we carried in last night for dinner.

It was you and your hubby that made that home happy and you will do the same where you are now. smiling smiley

In other news I discovered a new flavor of ice cream and it is unbelievably divine. Brown butter bourbon truffle. Yes indeedy. I can never buy it again because I Just. Can't. Stop.
You had me at Bourbon truffle. Nice. I love brown butter, I like bourbon, delicious truffle, mmmhmmm. Add some chocolate maybe? Nawwww.
My neighbor of 20 years (she lived next door for 24 years) sold their house. She was the first person in the neighborhood to make me feel welcome when I first moved here from FL all those years ago. She told me she went over after everything was out and the sale was final, and cried. They raised their two kids there. At least they didn't move very far from here, I really love them. I haven't met the new people yet.

Change is hard.

BLTs are also my favorite sandwiches. I get fancy and top it with a fried egg or an avocado.

Today I am finally moving in as escrow closes and funds are disbursed tomorrow. Final papers signed and it's over, was a difficult move, so now a small cruise (my first) is in order. The buyers ended up buying a piece of furniture I had and things worked out smoothly (in the end). I no longer am a property owner, free as a bird.

Enjoy your cruise. I recommend sea sickness patches unless you know you don’t get queezy.
I was gonna say to your previous post "HEY, what about me?" I'm edumacated and certified in spirits and beer, why don't I get to have a drink lol. I would love a meet up. When I was heavily involved in the craft beer world and active on Twitter, I would arrange meetups with at various breweries. We had people from PA, NJ and even one from NY that would meet up, it was a great time.

Irene & Kathy, moving was always exciting for me. I was an Army brat and I really liked a fresh start. I got so used to it that even though my Dad has been retired since the early 90s, I've moved 16 times since then and I'm ready to move again lol. I wish you both a lot of luck and happiness in your new places!

In the first post I was just referencing forum members who have discussed drinking and what they like to drink in particular. I drank wine with Wales at a conference once and she has posted a few times about her fondness for wine (she might be less of a lush than I am). Irene doesn't much like wine but loves Cosmos and other fancy cocktails. There was one particular thread that got stressful due to some a-hole forum member pissing us all off, and it turned into cocktail recipes with kimmiemae handing us all spiked mocha lattes. Honny is often gallivanting off to Total Wine and seemed sad about her broken martini glass...so my mentions of them just had to do with how long they have all been around.

I really would love to have a gathering somewhere where we could all meet and have food and drinks together. The only way I see it being possible is if it were at a shopper conference, though. But if I ever end up in your neck of the woods, Jenny, you better believe I will give you a holler so we can meet up! And any of you all who ends up anywhere near Akron, OH for any reason, shoot me a PM so we can meet for dinner! Hell, I might even cook you something smiling smiley

We drove through Ohio on our way to see my brother in Wisconsin a little over a year ago and one of my bestest buddies who I've never met IRL but talk to every day is in Ohio. It's not beyond the realm of possibility.

Jenny can make the filthy vodka martinis with her anchovies!

Jas and I actually have had a meal and shared a bottle of wine. One of the many benefits of going to an IMSC conference was that about a dozen shoppers all had a big dinner together. Many of us knew each other by screen names, or had been told our screen names by MS buddies from the forum. As I recall, everyone at the table ordered what most appealed to them and then we passed everything around (and around, and around).

Today we head to the real estate office one more time to close on the house we sold. Then, unpacking more boxes and making progress on the master bedroom closet renovation so we can actually hang our clothes in there.

Yes Honny, though I'd prefer the gin ones, I know most prefer the vodka..throwback to my dad who would ask for just a whisper of vermouth in his tanqueray martinis smiling smiley. My boyfriend must love me a lot because he just got me 2 more jars of anchovies at the Italian market, one more with capers and another which he refuses to tell me about but I will see on Saturday. Dirty fish martinis for everyone LMAO!

I can just imagine a table full of mystery shoppers, none "on the job" enjoying a meal together. This sounds like a great meal!

It was a lot of fun! After dinner I went into the casino and gambled on the slot machines. I remember looking at the chairs at the slot machines and noticing the torn fabric, slurring, "That would be totally unacceptable on a shop..." (muttering to myself). But, I won $400 in about two hours before I stumbled back to my room.

I don't drink gin. I don't like the smell, the look, or the green bottle. I will stick to vodka.

I have heat!

Lovely lunch with my BFF of over 50 years. She dabbles in shopping from time to time.
Not a shop. We spent 3 hours at lunch just chatting.
