Opposite here. I buy too much if I am hungry when I shop. Anyway, the first third of the sunrise was so sweet today that I will put it in an upcoming painting. That will be a lovely scene.

We've had a rainy week. Today I'm washing our cars.

I am dying for a haircut. I needed one before everything was shut down. The other day I just got tired of it and cut about six inches off.
It's Memorial Day "down the shore" and even though we're in the middle of a pandemic, tons of people came into town and have taken over as they always do. It poured last night and now that it's bright and sunny, I see the city slickers hauling all their stuff to the beach. You won't catch me dead anywhere out there this weekend.

I am living through the temptation to whack off hair. It is in good shape but a bit uneven at the ends.I know that I need to let the layers grow a bit longer before I do anything radical. Bangs and layers are such a pita that I had to develop a cope for this. *breathe in... breathe out... this too shall pass... iiiiiiiiiiinnnn.. ooouuutttttt....... this too shall pass............pass..... passing... passing... gone.*

In twisted irony, that's exactly how at least one of those beachgoers is likely to wind up. I daresay that enforcement of social distancing rules will be an uphill battle, with many people claiming that their rights are being infringed upon.

Churches in my area were allowed to open up this week, and I went to Mass for the first time since mid-March.

There were many changes. To ensure they kept within the acceptable number we had to make a reservation online. Every other pew was blocked off with painter's tape. There was no missals, offertory basket, or sign of peace. The priest offered the closing prayer before Communion so there wouldn't be a flood of people trying to exit at the same time, and there was no socializing afterwards.

Every time a commercial comes on for Alexa in my living room, it activates my kitchen Alexa.

I did a disturbing Field Agent shop this morning. I had to look at the produce in a certain grocery store. One assignment had me remove fresh cherries from the packaging and take a picture of them in my hand next to a quarter. Then I had to put the cherries back.

Needless to say, I didn't do the next shop.

Going through toys in the extra bedroom and turning them into cash on eBay.

LEGOS are worth more now than when I bought them, strangely enough.

Today was taking my post hole digger to help my son replace his mailbox, which was run over by a neighbor backing out of the driveway across the street. The new post got set properly in concrete and leveled up. Tomorrow the new box will get attached so it is ready for mail on Tuesday.

We then hit a couple of Goodwill stores that are offering 50% off all donated items this weekend. Got some surprisingly nice art and my son picked up a rotisserie for his kitchen since he loves rotissed chickens done on my rotisserie. Don't think it has ever been used. Goodwill was sanitizing carts, encouraging folks to mask up and workers were wearing masks. They asked in a way that several folks went back to their cars and came back with masks.

I did my first Instacart job today. It was 4 items and the store was close to home. I like the concept, but the jobs get snapped up instantly. I would have to stay glued to my phone to get work. Nope. Also, because the job has to be accepted right away, there is no looking at the details.

The Amazon job starts tomorrow. I'm preparing for that: laundry, cooking stuff for lunch and snacks, mapping out my route, etc.

You are probably going to be the best instacart shopper ever. They are the lowest of the low here. Sometimes, they will bring melted ice cream (I have seen posts from my neighbors), take 3 hours to deliver (hence all cold items are warm) or simply just not deliver at all. A lot of them mark items that are in-stock, as out of stock. I think that a lot of the instacart shoppers ruined it for everyone. I saw some receipts from neighbors who were tipping (NO LIE) $50 per delivery because they were scared that nobody would pick up their orders with normal tips.

I use Whole Foods and leave extra cash (in addition to the online tip) with a note on the doorstep if I don't get a lot of out-of stock texts.

SCM, I can understand that. A lot of people don't know how to shop. Frozen and chilled items have to be shopped last. Also, it helps to know the layout of the store. Instacart doesn't give that information. We also don't get the delivery location until later.

For instance, my client wanted organic cabbage. A non-shopper would look in the organic section and mark it as not available. It's in the salad section.

Knowing the layout of the store helps tremendously to cut down on shopping time. I didn't take an assignment at Petco because I don't shop there personally and don't know the layout.

Also, I don't buy items that I wouldn't buy for myself. One fake meat item had small puncture holes in the top. I didn't get that for the client.

When the locations hit the board, we have to take them right away or lose them. After we accept the assignment, we see how many items we need to buy. We don't know the exact location of the delivery until later. This can also increase total time.

I would definitely stick to one or two stores, so that you learn the layout.
My Whole Foods order came 100% correct and cold.
I got both types of Myoko's sliced vegan cheese, which is brand new and hard to find.

I think that Petco would be easy because almost nothing is cold (except the raw food), but I'd guess that the orders would be heavy. People are probably buying big bags of dog food and cat litter.

I have only been in one store in two weeks.

Another thing I like about IC is that they send their shoppers a prepaid card. They mail one that has to be activated, but a digital one can be used right away.

Costco and the local supermarket tomorrowwith DD #2. Dreading it. We have not shopped for 10 days. DH has bought milk, eggs, bread from Rite Aide. Time to go.

Work. No more than four or nine projects. Learn something about covid... apparently, if you have the genetic marker for dementia, you also have high risk for a difficult case of covid-19. This clarifies the numbers for some demographics.

Drop off a package at Post Express, 2 quick grocery store visits; major kitchen clean-up; deciding what recipe I will make to freeze multiple meals; 2 loads of laundry; trash and recycling to the curb.
