ACE going to PayQuicker

Mert: If you are referring to my post about Insurance co and policy # then a correction is needed. I do not know if payquicker or the bank requires that or not. I wrote that there are few MSCs who require that.

Update--I got my money on Friday after requesting it either Tuesday late or sometime Wednesday (I don't recall which, but definitely after close of business on Tuesday).

I also am positive I never entered any insurance policy information at all when I activated my account.

I am a hobby shopper most of the time (the shops I can bring a 12 year old with moderate to severe autism on are extremely limited), so I will take ACE jobs if I can fit them into my schedule, as I always have. This change won't impact the minimal amount of work I do for ACE.

A lot of emotional arguments are being put forth by the company to sell this change. CHANGE in itself is not necessarily good or bad, it is just DIFFERENT. To argue that shoppers should be willing to embrace a change simply to prove they aren't afraid of change is ridiculous. Any time you make a change, it pays to give definite thought to what the change is and what it will do for you (or TO you). Julie comments that she thought about and planned this change for several months. In April 2011, Payquicker posted their schedule of fees on a forum - [forums.azbilliards.com] Some concerns I have reading those fees are - if one works infrequently for ACE and ACE transactions are the only account activity with Payquicker, is there a $4.95 inactivity fee? If a shopper signs up merely to get outstanding ACE payments (shops performed before the big announcement), then closes the account - is there a $5 account closure fee? There is a fee to get a Card and a fee to CLOSE the card.

I will request that my outstanding shops be paid by ACE by check and I'll stand back and wait to see if I hear good reviews. I understand that this change offers significant benefits to ACE and Julie states that she thought about it and planned its implementation for months. That's smart. I think about change to determine the benefits to me before moving forward with it, and, as Julie did before committing ACE to this change, I plan to give it serious thought and planning. I'm certainly not willing to make an instant change.

I have found this to be very very true. Perhaps IO am not cynical enough, but so far their customer service is excellent, and I received my pay faster via P.Q. it also transfered to my bank account faster than does Pay Pal.
I know it is hard these days to give our information out with all the scary things that can and do happen. However, I look at it this way...and being part of the "global" banking community does not make me feel better. Even so, "they" whoever they are (remember 1984 and big brother? if you are too young you should get it and read it!), already have my information from a variety of other places, from Social Security to the IRS to my Doctor.

When cars first started to be on the streets, people foresaw all sorts of disaters. People getting killed, the cars went to fast, etc. etc. and they were right! People get killed by cars horrible things happen becasue of cars. But are we going to give up our cars? HA!

It is hard for some people to accept and embrace new things, but let me live in this dangerous world we are now in, rather than give me a simpler life with no electricity, without fast transportation, and conveniences no one in history has had before us. The "bad guys" are always going to find a way to take advantage of the "good guys."
Just my viewpoint.
Somehow, I think ACE is going to be hurting for experienced shoppers.

I got this in my PayQuicker cancellation notice:

"Refused PQ and demanded paper check".

The word "demand" is loaded. I requested a check per the terms of my IC agreement with ACE in place when the jobs were done.

I addressed it with ACE directly, along with the poorly worded e-mail I received a week ago when I requested said check. Got yet another justification back-and not from the person I sent it to.

Guess what? I still don't have a check.

As someone else pointed out earlier, ACE employees are way too emotional about how this is better for them. It was never about the shopper.

Flash is also right that when you research PQ, you find nothing except their own SPAM. I'd have had more respect for ACE even if they'd tested Serve, which AmEx now owns and is the old RME. Still wouldn't have done it, but at least the info is out there.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I would disagree. Jamie offered one perspective and reiterated why she felt that way when her reasoning was debated. I simply restated my singular experience so far and explained why the owners of ACE chose to do what they did. Whether we like the change or not, ACE has valid reasons. It's up to each individual to decide whether the changes are extreme enough, unreasonable enough, unrealistic enough not to work with ACE again. For me, they aren't. Period.

Like everyone else, I was worried and doubtful about the new system. I've conversed with Steve via email about questions I've had and we've had an open dialog back and forth. I know I don't like change when something's working for me. I preferred ACH's direct deposit but it is what it is and it hasn't been detrimental to date.

The only "emotion" showed was in response to an unnecessarily condescending comment made towards Julie where I stated an apology was due to her. More "emotion" has been seen in some of these posts exaggerating about ACE requiring insurance policy numbers, comparing IC work to mortgage loans, or insisting we'll all be paid in pesos next. Seriously? Stating the obvious...that this industry is a business, should be treated as such, and issues can be discussed respectfully...is not "emotional". This IS a business. Period. We should all act like professionals. What we say and do as shoppers, schedulers, editors, and company owners affects whether or not we will work with one another, by our choice--or theirs. That's fact, not emotion.
Whatis a payquicker cancellation notice? What did they cancel?

If you prefer to be paid by check for the shops you've already completed, then you decline the PayQuicker payment notification and let accounting@acemysteryshopping.com know that you want to be paid by check. For shops already completed, they are honoring payment via check. For future shops you choose to complete with ACE, PayQuicker will be required to receive payment.

yes that was my understanding. I recieved my PQ payment. I was responding to off thecharts who was indicating that he had not recieved a check.
I so Totally agree with what you said so well and hopefully this will be the end of this discussion about a perfectly legitimate business practice.
Thanks, cyn b
3offthecharts ~ From the email you sent me yesterday, it looks as if it was early evening on the 20th when you emailed our accounting requesting a check. Therefore, the check could not have possibly been put into the mail until *at least* the 21st. Please remember that this is going to be coming from the USPS and they tend to move at snail's pace at time (LOL I still haven't gotten my People magazine in the mail that should have been in my mailbox Friday).

I was also a little put off by the "demanded a check" bit. But, in all honesty, I DID demand one so it is just the truth. I got the payment cancelled email on the 19th and I got the check on the 21st.
How do you decline the PayQuicker payment? I only see an option to 'accept payment now'. Or, do I just send the email to accounting requesting a check?

Reply to the payment you received from Accounting@acemysteryshopping.com.
Does anyone know of an impartial review, article, etc., about payquicker?

I just received a payment notice for an ACE shop from payquicker and promptly googled it without getting anything like the above.

I'm not going to give my personal information to a new company that just pops out of nowhere for me and can't be verified as a legitimate company.

If that means I'm losing this shop fee and not working for ACE, well, so be it.

You don't have to. Send an e-mail to accounting@acemysteryshopping.com stating that you wish to opt out of payquicker and request that they send payment by paper check.

This is only one time deal. In future they will only use payquicker and the bank that used Kardashian sisters.

Thank you Sir. I was unable to find contact information for ACE on the website.

I'm lost....I just self-assigned and do not know anything about payquick. I was never asked to change or sign for a check....I wish they'd send out a reminder, I almost forgot about the job and now, do I have to worry about getting paid. I haven't worked for them in awhile, so, I am behind on this issue.

Perhaps not if they find too many of their shoppers objecting to payquicker.
Personally, I haven't found anything that would justify the use of it. But then, I just started looking.

Warning to shoppers: Do not put faith into anything Anakin says as most of what he's stated here is snarky exaggerations (insurance company and number, Kardasian bank, deactivate shoppers) or outright lies meant to excite and worry shoppers instead of addressing concerns in a professional manner.

ACE does NOT automatcially deactivate people for a cancelled shop. If there's a repeated pattern, that could be an issue, but I've seen many shopper profiles where they have cancelled or rescheduled multiple shops and are still active shoppers in good standing with ACE.

While I am "biased" in the fact that I edit for ACE, so far I've received two payments from ACE through PayQuicker without issue. Both were deposited into my account within 24 hours of requesting it. I will be glad to send screen shots to anyone who has concerns about the legitimacy of the program. Just PM me.

Alwaysangie: Your loyalty is admirable. No matter what you say ACE tried to sneak this payquicker garbage on to the shoppers. If they were honest, all they had to do was put a message in the shopper portal even before a single shopper was paid. Instead, about this time last month most of the shoppers for the first time in their lives heard of payquicker.
I guess I will no longer shop ACE. I have a payment waiting, but will not sign up for PayQuicker. I simply do not need it. They also ask for all the information that I never give out. I really do not know them from I hope that they either send me a check, as requested, or simply pay me thru Pay Pal. I have enough systems in place for paying and accepting money without adding another. Does anyone else have money sitting in limbo with this PayQuicker?
Anyone have impartial reviews of payquicker?

How about from a source like these,

wallstreetjournal.com, yahoo.com, pcworld.com, abcnews.com, nytimes.com.

It's strange, but I haven't been able to find a review or article from a source like this. Make me wonder about the legitimacy of this new company.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I have been reading through the posts about PayQuicker. This one caught my attention. I never received the e-mail noted about the change to PayQuicker. I have searched my emails and did not find this message. I have signed up with the service and will give it a try. I just don't understand why ACE did not choose to use PayPal when so many other companies are using PayPal. I am concerned about the fees that PQ lists but hopefully I will not incur any UNLESS of course I cancel the service which I find to be ludicrous!

It is not only that, the payment notice does not explicitly state the option that if you do not wish to receive payment through pay quicker for this one time we will send payment via check.

The message comes as a picture of check and the only option you have is to accept the payment.

If I was not reading this forum, I would not know what to do.

I have just gotten my notation of money sent me by ACE through PayQuicker in payment for shops performed in September before the PayQuicker payment announcement was made. Per Julie's instructions, I have forwarded it to accounting@acemysteryshopping.com to request that I be mailed a check. When I hear feedback for several months from shoppers I know and respect who have received several payments through PayQuicker, I might think about an account. For right now, having researched PayQuicker, I am unimpressed.
My argument about it remains the same. Prior to mystery shopping I wasn't even familiar with PayPal since I don't use E-bay, etc. After being hesitant to sign up I discovered that many good, legitimate companies used it and it would be quicker than waiting around for checks. My decision to stay away from PayQuicker is just based on it's relatively short track record and the fact only one company is utilizing the service. In other words, it's not worth my time at this point. I also did not find many independent statements regarding the service. My research found either statements from the company itself or from blogs with posters asking many of the same questions we have. If and when some of my other companies start using it I will revisit the possibility.

Totally agree. I work for ACe and was paid on time from payquicker. New company. Why all the paranoia? Do what you want, but if shoppers cannot be professional and accecpt new ideas then I just do not get it. If we are that fussed about anything new then opt out. When I say that I work for ACE I mean I am a long term shopper.
