BARE payment

Now, I know this is a good and reliable company. But, I have yet to receive my October check. I was told by the person I spoke to, when I called to inquire about it, that the checks were mailed out on the 20th of November. I have yet to receive the check. I know direct deposit is the best way to go if the company offers this option. I just have'nt gotten around to making the switch. Has anyone else not gotten their check for October jobs?

I would appreciate the feedback.

I got paid by direct deposit on October 12 and November 14. My November payment covered all my October shops. A check mailed on November 20 surely should have gotten there by now. Does anyone but you collect your mail? some of these shopping check envelopes look a lot like junk mail to me.

itsasecret, Yeah, they do look like junk mail sometimes. But, since I started shopping I've been real cautious of what I throw away. I dunno, guess I will have to call them again on Monday. Thanx for the input.
I've actually received a direct deposit roughly 3 weeks after I did my last shop with them. In the past prior to setting up direct deposit, I received a check yet usually got it in the mail 4-6 weeks later. I highly recommend switching to a direct deposit method with BARE.

Did you get an email about your payment being submitted? Generally BARE sends an email to let the shopper know payment is on the way. Check your emails for Novemember and see if that email is included. I don't know if they send out emails for DD, but they do for checks.

Check your address you have on profile, to be sure it is correct.
Yeah that's one of my concerns. I usually do get an email telling me the check is on the way. I did'nt this month. I am just gonna call again tomorrow morining. Thanks for the input.
They send out email with payment schedule for DD.

I am registered for Direct Deposit but being in Canada, I get a check in the mail, which usually takes up to 12 days. They have some shops that pay Direct Deposit and I think I had a couple based in Europe, not in USA. They are very conscientious about getting a payment to the shopper, I think because they took all the trouble of getting my International Routing #.
Were you able to straighten it out and receive your payment? I hope so!

Received email yesterday from BARE, which stated that checks were being issued today, 12/14, for Novembers shops.

Yea!

I got my email yesterday too! Almost half my November income was from Bare.

I always get an email stating what they are paying me for and the amount. It comes several days before it is deposited in my bank.
My October check apparently mailed out on November 19th, per their records, has been a no-show and lost in the mail. I was given the option of either waiting six months for them to re-issue another check or pay 30 bucks for them to stop payment and have them mail me the balance prioity mail. The real kicker is most of the shop were for the USPS shops.

Moving to DD as soon as I get a chance. This is the first time I had a problem like this with them in 5 months.
They emailed me and said they were direct deposing on the 14th. However, I do not have direct deposit set up. I have emailed them several times and gotten no response.

Play it safe and call them right away to avoid any problems.
My DD came in timely today. During the holiday mailing season, this is much more reliable than checks in the mail.

Direct Deposit is the way to go, IMHO. I always get the email listing the breakdown a few days before the payment hits the checking account. It hit today. Two thumbs up as usual with BARE.
I have DD, and it works well. However, if you go over $600. in a month, they do not do DD. They send checks. They will send priority at no charge if you check exceeds $1,000. Just ask, since mailed checks can be slow.
I have no trouble with Bare. They are the fastest, as far as payment goes.

Service Sleuth is the worst. I have yet to get my 3rd October shops payment. Yes, Oct. 20 shop, it is now Jan. 1st, 2013. They paid the other 2, but one of them is $5 short.
WOW! I must be living in lala land or something...I see so many people complain about non-payment from various companies. In 7 years, I have only had one problem and really not enough for me to spend too much time going back and forth with the company, although when I wrote them recently, they are being very proactive and responsive with the matter. I hope that EVERYONE on this forum and throughout the MS world gets their payments straight. I don't think I would know how to react if I went through some of the stuff I hear about on here regarding non-payment. We are all just trying to make an honest living and, in my opinion, provide a very valuable service. I think that we all try to be ethical in our services and reporting. It's just a rotten shame that some of the companies aren't as ethical as we are!
I've been paid for all my accepted reports because I learned on this forum which companies don't pay their shoppers. Yea, Forum. Thanks to all who shared.

Today is March 5 and I have yet to receive my payment that was generated on Feb 13,2013. I've only worked for Bare for about 3 moths. Are they having financial troubles? The checks in the mail is one of the 3 biggest lies. I'm only one state away from them so the time to get mail from VA to MD should only be 2 day not 3 weeks.
I called them and was told one time checks were mailed out on the 18th and another time I was told by some one else at Bare that checks were mailed on the 19th. Last time I had a problem getting paid by a company I did work for they didn't have enough money to pay me. I ended up going to court and getting a judgement and only was able to collect a portion of the money they owed me. I still have a judgement against them but haven't been able to collect in over 2 years.
I'm not saying this is the scenario with Bare or at least I hope not. I wanted to check to see if anyone else is having problems getting their check from Bare?

In the email that you received from them had a payroll manager on it. You should probably contact that person. Bare is a reliable company in my eyes, but that 's just me. I received my check on the 19th. Check your PO mailing address or profile.

I am not saying Bare is having problems but don't go throwing stones. tongue sticking out smileyangry smileyangry smileytongue sticking out smiley
I contacted them for the 2nd time about not receiving my check. I contacted them both by email and also called and left a voice mail for the person who handles payouts and it was 5 days before I got a response (today) by email that said to either wait 30 day and request a stop payment and that I would be charged $30 or I could wait 6 months and they could re-issue a check with no fee.

What was the final outcome on your payment? Did the check finally show up in the mail? If so how long did it take? I'm wondering what I should expect.

Do you all above not get your Bare deposits direct deposited? That is what I have done and have never had a problem. I am reading on their Sassie site that they will do one check before direct deposit if you are leary but sounds like beyond that you need direct deposit.

Liz
BARE does not do DD in my area. So when I am contacted by email that the check is in the mail, then I just wait. DD would be the easier way to go for me but I am pleased with the check issuance. As for MOFFET8, I don't have his concern. With the PO having there own issues nowadays, I would put it pass the PO with its deliverance system. smiling smileysmiling smiley
File this... all you shoppers who are bragging about Bare and direct deposit being the way to go. Just because you have signed up for direct deposit DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL BE PAID direct deposit. Emphasis is on, it does not mean you will be paid direct deposit. I self-deactivated with Bare after they failed to pay me according to their written pay schedule on their site. I learned the hard way, so don't depend on direct deposit just because you "signed up" for direct deposit.

Their written pay policy is NOT their policy. It is the policy that they tell you.

And, I'm editing this to add... I received an email from a scheduler at Bare who cited that they though the policy was going to be updated on their site.... but that hasn't happened.

Here's the message from Gwen Johnson, who sends their payments...

"As you have conducted many shops, we want to ensure that we are providing you with the correct payment, therefore we conduct numerous quality checks in house regarding the payment before it’s sent to you. If we were to provide payment via direct deposit, we would lose out on the “extra eyes” for each payment and could potentially result in you receiving an incorrect payment. We pride ourselves on timely and correct payment therefore we take the extra time and energy to ensure your payment is correct via check."

DON'T DEPEND ON A DIRECT DEPOSIT WITH BARE. And, it is not me, the shopper saying it, it is the company.

In the last five years I have always been paid by DD, on time and in the correct amount. I can't speak to anything else but my own experience and it has been good.
