A little payback from Intellishop?

I'm starting to see a pattern with this company. Twice I have written strongly worded posts on this forum about the company and twice I've had my scores drop like a lead balloon.

After posting last month about the payment issue and that I would not be working for them again, I broke down and did several of their late-night burger joint shops in places they have a hard time getting shoppers due to remoteness, especially late at night. In this case it was Barstow and Big Bear Lake. I figured I was going to be 200 feet away from the store in Big Bear, it was an easy although naseauting shop, and I know how to drive on the black ice and deal with the snow at the time of night so I took the shop. Ditto with Barstow--not the black ice and snow part--but who wants to be in Barstow at midnight if you don't have to be? I was there for other assignments so I took three up there.

Then came along an outlet shop that stayed on the board for weeks. I was going to be two stores down so I took it. Today I got the following review:

"Shop Grade: 6

Comments:
6/10. Thank you for your report, it was well done. I deducted two points for having to contact you regarding the uploaded receipt. An additional point was deducted for having some inconsistent answers, and one point for not explaining all your answers to the fullest. Otherwise it was a great report! Thank you for updating your report in a timely manner."

I've never received a 6--ever. For that matter, I believe I only have received one 7 and a couple of 8s and that was after I posted negative comments in this forum for equally stupid stuff.

Let me address their issues. Regarding the receipt, the photo was taken with a 16 mp camera. The photo was fine. I checked to be sure. The one I submitted that they accepted was just like the one they rejected and taken with the same camera. At least 75 percent of my documentation photos are taken with this camera. I use a 24 mp digital SLR for Cori's gas station because it has a date stamp and an 18 mp digital SLR for MF's gas station because it doesn't have a date stamp--in both cases because I want awesome photos and because often I'm dealing with really negative weather conditions. I even did one gas station in the pitch black and the photos and shop were accepted because they were high quality. But for other documentation I use a simple 16 mp point-and-shoot and never have complaints.

Regarding inconsistent answers (isn't that the pot calling the kettle "black," i.e., "well done," "a great report," versus "6" ), what they didn't like was that the saleperson checked back with me numerous times and gave me her undivided attention each time, which was noted in the narrative. To the question "Did the associate's attention stray for more than 15 seconds?" (paraphrased), I answered "no." They think that is inconsistent with me saying she checked back with me numerous times and gave me her undivided attention each time I needed help. I don't get it! You can't expect the only floor associate in a busy store to follow you around like a lost puppy. She did what she was supposed to do. She was an excellent associate.

As to not explaining fully, I added fluff after they asked for more. What am I supposed to report other than the facts? The facts were there in the first place.

So today I got a whole series of urgent emails from schedulers for shops in Ridgecrest, Boron, Barstow and Big Bear Lake. I hope one of you is going that way because, although I am also, I won't be making any stops at truck stops or midnight burger joints. I'm really done this time. I'm deregistering as soon as I get paid.

I don't have anything to do with Intellishop anymore either. For me those it's their deplorably low commissions.
I'm not doing any shops for them. Too much drama going on with them. I don't like that.
Never had any drama with them....but their pay seems to be dropping, and I'm just not interested at the rates currently listed.
In this case, I don't find the editing helpful and it doesn't sound like it clarified anything. The goal should be the best possible report for the client.

I only do their shops hen I can get a decent bonus. The last shop that I did for them was in July. Since then their bonuses have dropped down considerably.
I got the "We deducted two points because we had to contact you" message on my last shop with them. Well, I have had to contact them for two months in a row about incorrect payment issues, then contact them again because they didn't follow up nor did they correct the issues. How many points should I deduct for that?

I no longer shop for them either. I got banned from doing one of their convenient store shops because I didn't visit the bathroom. They also changed their guidelines so that you have to stay in the store for 8 min. Who is in a convenient store for that long?
Eight minutes is not a long time if you check the bathroom, the food/fountain area, all aisles and shelves, all coolers, and the floor, ceiling, and lights. Walk slowly like a customer looking around, not fast like an auditor. You can linger making your selection to purchase and of course there's your line time.

I really enjoyed interacting and working for Intelli-Shop. I like their schedulers, all of which have been very responsive and eager to help. Intelli-Shop is a good MSC. I just cannot afford to apply for shops anymore that pay an equivalent of way below minimum wage. I like their schedulers, all of which have been very responsive.
I did one really lucrative set of phone shops for Intelli Shop in the sporting world. I have also done one really lucrative sporting event shop. Then I do a lot of oil change shops since they shop the brand of car that both of my cars are. So as a whole, I'll stick with them.
I got one 6 from a reviewer once. Otherwise, I've gotten all 9s and 10s. After the 6 point review, I thought about leaving them, but I've stayed. I'm just very selective about what I will do for them now. That's true of all MSCs. As long as Intellishop pays me and allows me to self-assign, they can grade me however they want. I just put my bruised ego aside because I'm in it for the money. I like the schedulers too.
I've only done 1 shop for them. I got a 9 because I forgot to change the time from AM to PM.

I got the "We deducted two points because we had to contact you" message on my last shop with them.

I got that same thing on my last job with them too. Must be the same person doing the "contacting". We've been in contact before and I never had any deduction, simply did a clarification and moved on.
I only do the oil change for them. I never really care about the score. Just the pay which they do.

expect the unexpected
I get my oil changed monthly so it helps to get reimbursed and a short narrative. I evaluated the big erection in NYC and must say if you visit NYC , do it!
GMNJ, sometimes they can figure out from the post who the person is. If a post is made about a particular problem with a particular shop, it's not hard to track that down. A few of us post under our own names. My forum name is my name so I'm not a mystery.

Intellishop has given me 10s on two of three shops I did. The third didn't actually get a score for some reason (retail store audit, maybe these aren't scored).

I have gotten prompt payment on one job so far. The second says "PAYMENT PENDING" due any day now and the third (being the same type fast food shop as the OP did) is too recent to have this.

My point is they've been good to me. I can understand why some would fire them, but maybe that means I'll get two (or more) of those lucrative fast food shops should they come around again instead of just one.

(tee hee hee!)

I'll have to keep in mind to 'do the big erection' should I ever visit NYC. grinning smiley

this is one I shopped for a lot way back when.....but enough was enough.....I have never looked back and don't even look at their board anymore....
I actually recently had a great intelli experience. I exited a parking structure 30 minutes past the deadline (I had written the wrong time in my notes) and they were great about it, and I got a 9 and, most importantly, paid.
I got burned from them on 3 shops in a row. One here or there I MIGHT understand but 3 in a row???? I spent a lot of time on those shops, did them to the letter and then they claimed I didn't follow directions, gave me a 1 on all three (different types mind you!) and refused to pay me. I quit shopping for over a year after that. Now I'm back but I will NEVER again work with Intelli or Market Force.
I like Intellishop just fine. The low paying shops helped me get a feel for shopping. So you screw the pooch on a five dollar fast food when you're starting out. You don't get paid, but the experience is still worthwhile. Great MSC to cut your teeth on. In my opinion, of course.

I am deducting 1 point for your inability to understand photography and megapixels. I am deducting 1 point for your inconsistency in responding back and your wishy-washy answers. I am deducting 2 points for having to write you this long letter of explanation. Otherwise, you are a tolerable Scheduler! Thank you for actually reading my letter and hopefully you will respond in 24 hours, otherwise, I will be forced to deduct another 1 point! Have a great day! smiling smiley
I shop with Intellishop every now and then. I don't get all tens but I always get paid, which is the main thing. I don't mind when I receive specific criticism, and when I receive vague criticism I ignore it. I already have all the blue ribbons and attagirls I can enjoy. So far we're getting along fine.
