Market Force Clarification - Why Good Shoppers are Deactivated

Asked this question of a former MF employee. I can't post what was told to me due to confidentiality, but the information I receieved was confirmed by this statement in the MF FAQ:
9. How many shops can I assign myself?
... we limit the overall number of shops someone can handle for us each month... the number of shops per project is also limited to ensure that a Shopper does not become “stale” or “biased” in doing the same type of shop over and over again."

MF uses a complicated formula to determine if a shopper has become biased. If you were a shopper in good standing with MF, but then deactivated, it will be because a program developed by GAVS using predictive analysis identified a bias in your reporting after the program had enough data to detect the bias.

Now, back to my shopping. On a long route right now and loving it.

Thank you for your post; I found it very interesting.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Well, aggiejim, I think it's just the three of us left--you, LJ and me; some took LJ's tagline suggestion and toggled him/her, others found me chronically annoying--although I can't on God's green earth imagine why (smile)--and toggled me and, well, the rest, all, toggled you. So sad.

So now, is there anything LJ and/or I can help you with?

I never toggle anyone. I'm too damned nosy. And usually, where others are outraged, I am amused. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in that deliciously evil kind of way. Heh.

What was the question here? Ah, we're discussing MF deactivation. Doesn't that sound vaguely perverted?

What "confidentiality" if this person is a former MF employee? Just the confidentiality (s)he asked you for? P-ffffft.

Whatever. MF is OK, and I love the jobs I choose to do for them; but on this subject... well it aggravates.

My guess is becoming biased would be giving glowing reviews to every shop you do. You should be more observant and report good and bad based upon what really happened.

AggieJim72, Very interesting that he mentions the mobile area. I wonder if they are developing a mobile app. I always thought they were ever since they added a smartphone question to a fast food restaurant's report.

Actually I'm happy. Now I can learn from the best shoppers, like Walesmaven, Canuck, Bond, and Stormcloud, which I'm happy to do.

Interesting. I'm happy to learn from anyone. I don't narrow it down only to particular people.

You have learned well, Grasshopper.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Aggie, how do you identify the good shoppers?

Well of course. I'm sure it must be some kind of rock science.

Crickets. Had an interesting night at the Wyoming rest area. Stoners from Colorado caused a big scene at 12am and called the police on me when I asked them to quite down. The police arrived, let me leave, and hassled them. I drove 100+ miles to Chugwater, Wyoming and slept at that rest area. Colorado stoners are something else.

And that has to do with MarketForce how? This person sounds like the male version of another forum member we know. Cops are always harassing someone in their stories. I live in a cop-free zone.

I'm with StormCloud.... Nosy Rosy!!!

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
Well, that explains why MF pays such pitifully low fees to their shoppers. Blew it all on developing their algorithm.
So, then, why does Intellishop pay "such pitifully low fees to their shoppers"? I know, I know....to pay their editors. smiling smiley

I did not toggle LJ either, though I did one here, but never you, stilllearning.

I have been told by MF that I had successfully completed 100 shops. I did
not know that. I have been shopping for so many years and I just completed
100 shops for them? They have never rejected my shop so I had been
very slow accumulating them. Maybe because the pay were not something to
talk about but they were good fillers.

""Bullying," some researchers say, has been misused and abused in the last few years -- too casually uttered about every hurt, slight and fight, too frequently used in place of "teasing" or "fighting," too often brought up before there's proof it happened. The very word, some say, has been bullied." ~ By Jamie Gumbrecht, CNN

It just occurred to me that this is what bullies probably say to defend the bullying. "I wasn't bullying, I was just teasing." Usually followed by "it's not my fault that they can't take a joke."

Teasing and fighting are no more acceptable than bullying, so this is just a matter of semantics.

If a kid has been teased to the point of tears, does it really matter what label you hang on the torment?

Time to build a bigger bridge.
You echo my thoughts precisely, dspeakes. The bully minimizes his/her behavior, by accusing the victim of lacking a sense of humor.

This also reminds me of tickling, which I also view as abusive.

I started to mention tickling, but decided to stick to what was mentioned in the quote. So many people think tickling is fun for the victim because they are laughing but people who are ticklish, like I am, know that it is sheer torture. (I'm not talking about the quick tickles that make babies giggle and smile; I'm talking about holding someone down and tickling them, or tickling someone who said to stop. Babies will come to you with their arms upraised, asking for it, if they like the sensation; if they're trying to push your hands away, they're not having fun.)

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I have to admit that I cringe if someone is tickling a baby to make them giggle and smile, since I fear that's just a reflexive response on the part of the baby.

I've done all kinds of shops over the last year, and I think 95% of the sales people I have encountered are top notch, and the rest were average. Hard to write negative stuff. Maybe that's why I can't find any MF jobs in my area?
