It's probably why you are so employable ..... best luck with that. LOL

BillBryan, I mean johnboy, there is no reasoning with you.

If you enjoy being treated like that, stay with them. "As for me and my house"....we will move on.

Unless you live in a mobile home/trailer, on top of a sinkhole as it opens up or in Venice, Italy, I don't think your house is moving.

So how come you no longer work for that company or in that field? Been hit one too many times in the head by moon rocks?
I have had one and only one problem with Service Check. Early on a scheduler copied me in on an email. My interpretation was she said something disrespectful about me. I responded saying I would prefer not to work with them for that reason. She called and apologized profusely, explaining the disparaging remark was directed at the person who had left some important information out of the guidelines. The very information we were trying to clarify. We ended up having a long, enjoyable conversation.

They basically have one shop of interest to me and I complete it several times a year. They had always provided a sample narrative and by using it as a template for the amount of detail required I always received 10s. Once the sample narrative was nowhere to be found and my score was lower. When I asked the scheduler why they chose to drop the sample, she said they did not and it was a mistake on the company's part. She apologized for that and thanked me for bringing it to her attention so it could be corrected.

My point is, does all that sound like a company who really has no respect for their shoppers? It is easy to get spoiled and complacent because of companies who treat shoppers like children and spell everything out for them. Service Check treats shoppers as professionals because they expect professional work.

It depends on how long ago you had the problem with them. From some of the other posts and messages I've gotten, it appears things have changed. They may have gotten a new editor who is not so forgiving. It's like one poster on here said, he's worked for them before, had no problem. Recently he had one incident happen and they deactivated his account. MSC do get people into positions who are not very good at it.

Could not have said it better myself. That is why YOU eventually got deactivated. The MSC saw the light.
My issue was way back in 2009 and I deal with the same person today, among others. Half my shops are 10s, all but one of the remaining are 9s. The one scored lower because I made a big mistake. They accepted the shop with just a lower grade and an admonishment I totally deserved.

I once had a shop rejected because I did not get a sample, as the shop instructions required, in the produce department of a grocery store. I got a sample in deli, in bakery and in the wine shop as required. In the produce department, though, i would have stuck out like a sore thumb if I pressed it. I did try, but the associate said "oh we can't do that." I reported all this to the MSC, and argued about it with them back and forth in a few emails, but you know what? There are plenty of other companies to work for. BTW it is the only report I have ever had rejected in the fifteen years or so that I've been doing this.
I was deactivated and I had a 9 average with my last shop for them scoring a 10! When I emailed them for a reason, they never emailed back. Some of the schedulers use their position as a power boost.
I did two shops for them and this is enough for me..I will not do any shops for them in the future..done..deal..

Am I the only person here who regularly barters with retail shops? Any big ticket items sale price is a starting point. I always ask for an additional discount when shopping and usually point to the lowest online price and ask them to match it.

If that fails, I ask them to throw something in. If I'm buying a big screen TV, maybe that wall mount can be thrown in to seal the deal. Always ask for the store manager if you get a deer in the headlights looks from the sales person, or they say that nothing is negotiable. ***This is not MS shopping for me, it's just how I shop.***

I have even gone to a discount grocery store (not on a shop) where I have shopped. They had three frozen pizzas left from a "Special Buy" (Limited time offer item) that was in the discount case. I had already had one and liked it. It was better the the Botox man's pizza. There was no yellow price tag. I saw the store manager and showed her that they were not priced and told her I'd buy the last three and save her the effort of even making up a new price tag, if she'd give me a good discount. She didn't even blink before she said $1.99 if you buy all three of them. They were $5.99 when they first came in the store.

Another way to get something for next to nothing is to offer to buy a crushed/torn packaging item. If the contents are still sealed and good, they will almost give it away to get it off the floor. Think $4 item for 50 cents. This is great when there are like 3-4 smashed boxes of great cereal that the main box was crushed when they came in.

Awesome!!! Can I go shopping with you sometime just to watch you in action? :-)
A couple of years ago, I experienced a similar incident with them. The shop called for me to go to a high-end retailer and inquire about "formal wear" for an upcoming affair. I went in and expressed interest in tuxedos. It just so happens that I engaged the store's general manager. He suggested, because of sizing challenges, that I seek a custom tailored suit. He said it would fit better and would not cost a whole lot more than what they offered. SCI rejected my report, stating that I asked specifically to see tuxedos, instead of "formal wear" as the guidelines instructed. Of course, I was incensed and fired off a response inquiring what other formal wear existed for men. I never got a response but I did get de-activated, having performed several shops previously for them with no problem. I think it was the fact that I had video of the GM sending business away from the store was the REAL reason my shop was rejected and my questioning their decision got me the boot. Good riddance--I don't want to work for a company that treats people the way they do. Fuqq[get] 'em!!!

Whine, whine, whine, you sound like my stepson that is on disability. He isn't even competent enough to stand trial. But he says that other than that he is OK. Can't keep a thought for more than 10 minutes has to be closely supervised if you tell him to do something. The world is full of A**holes get over it. Live up to your expectations, or down if you think a 7 is good. I only know of one MSC that will keep you for awhile if you don't improve past a 7, But that is because they have so many shops to get done each month they do not complain too much. But they only let you get away with it for about four maybe five shops which take's about a year unless you have multiple vehicles.

Oh and I have done one shop for them almost a year ago, since they only have two stores in my neck of the woods that they do the MS voodoo on, they said with as many shoppers as they have it might be another year before I come up as a fresh reviewer. It was the lowest score I have ever gotten except where I totally bombed a shop. Which I admit I have done several. But I have never assumed what does it matter and I can safely ignore a question.

2stepps, no one is whining here. We're just stating the facts. They've dropped others....just me. The problem is with the MSC.
John, with all due respect to you and your endeavors with Service Check, I wanted to share with you a portion of the guidelines that I received regarding one of two types of shops that I regularly do for them:

"Shops that are incorrectly performed will be rejected, so be sure that you understand what your assignment is! Your reports will be reviewed thoroughly, you must ensure tht all details are correctly marked. Discrepancies may result in your report being rejected without pay, along with possible account deactivation."

It is my understanding that shoppers are required to review guidelines prior to performing a shop, therefore it appears that your deactivation was due to your work and that you were informed of a possible deactivation prior to you performing the shop.

(Truely, my remarks were offered without snark, sarcasm, nor malintent.)
liamgrey..be that it may, many others have been cut off by them for the simplest mistake. We are human, everyone makes mistakes now and than. If they will not listen to reason, better to just move on.
So take YOUR own advice and move on already! Geesh! The horse has been dead and buried for over a week now!

Not according to some of the other people posting their stories. smiling smiley
I said take YOUR advice. I am specifically talking to YOU. More posters are telling YOU to move on and stop whining. They are NOT saying it to other posters. It makes people NOT want to help you at all in the future. Think of how many MORE companies you could have signed up with and been working for by now. But YOU will NEVER learn. Good riddance.
DoogieZZ, jncut, gene, and others have also posted issues with the MSC. It appears some do want to post about their problems with the MSC.
thanks to this thread i signed up with this co and perfomed a mattress shop w/a bonus. i got a 10 and made double the $. i don't think this is a bad co at all.
