Maritzcx editors and schedulers.

About 3 months ago after doing 500 shops for this company, I got 13 out 0f 15 shops put on hold. This had never happened before so I called Maritzcx and inquired about it because I could not see any problems with the shops. The person I had talked to about this, told me that they were using outside editors for the first time because they were so busy. I had the person on the phone review the shops with me, and all 13 shops were approved without any changes being made, it seems the new editors were using a white glove criteria which was not required. 1 month later I visited the site to pick up some jobs. I was informed that because of the 13 out of 15 shop holds , my self-assign rights had been taken away. After trying to explain this to the person on the phone , I was told once it is in the computer they cannot do anything about it. This I do not believe as there is always a way to fix GIGO (garbage in garbage out.) What should I do ?

Happy Shopping to all.

Ask to speak to a supervisor. The front-line schedulers have absolutely no power over anything, as is evidenced by most of their defeatist attitudes. They probably have to raise their hand and get a hall pass to go to the bathroom. The supervisors have a lot more control over pretty much everything.

Also, this is not new. They've been using outside editors for like 6 months now, probably more.

I, too, have had trouble recently with Maritz editors not following directions, not reading comments, and putting things on hold due to editor rather than shopper errors. I'm afraid that they will lose clients because of it, since it results in clients receiving overly negative reports, and the manuals clearly state that they are not supposed to be white glove audits. They often change our answers because they see something incorrectly, or are unfamiliar with the shops in general.
Hopefully they only lose shoppers because of it.

Ah yes, but the previous editor allowed 555-1212 slip through as the phone number for a gas station I was trying to mystery shop. That was so not cool as GPS and mapping programs could not find the address. Finally found the correct phone number through Yelp. I can only imagine the lecture I would get if I got lazy and tried to slip that phone number through on a report.

Huh? the editor allowed it but you didn't put it in the report? Can you clarify this?

I might be misunderstanding, but I thought whiterosie meant the previous shopper put that number in a report and the editor allowed it.
How would she know what the previous shopper put in a report?

That's why they ask the auditors to get phone numbers. For that particular client, info from mystery shoppers is checked against info from auditors. There have been emails in the past from Maritz chiding shoppers for not reporting similar results as to what was found during the audit. Of course there are instances where things could be very different on two different days but there are others that will not change much over time such as if they have a restaurant or restroom on the premises. I've had calls from Maritz -- "Are you sure?" Yep, beyond positive that the station only has portapotties as the septic system failed and they can't afford to fix it. I was also questioned about reporting used razor blades, syringes, and condoms throughout the parking lot. They reshopped it and I had assumed the station was told to clean it up. But either the second shopper didnt report it or the company did not care because it was even worse when I went back the next time.

I have been noticing that my comments are being changed or deleted in reports, especially in reference to cleanliness issues. I'm willing to bet I'm one of the easiest because these are gas stations after all, but there are things I won't ignore. If you gross me out, it's going in the report.

I have to had a bunch of shops placed on hold for all kinds of things. 90 % of the time the editor is incorrect and I hate how you can only fix the question or the picture of what they open up for you to edit. I simply just called Beth and she gets rid of them every time. She has been a huge help lately and I really like her smiling smiley
Beth is great. Too bad she's not on every team. I think Maritz does a terrible job training their editors. EVERY hold should have the comments unlocked so I can tell them where they screwed up.
