The new MSC is "El Cheapo." As long as they get away with it they will.

Let's get real here. Anyone with a pulse and a camera can do this shop. Unless it is in BFE, there is no need for a $30 bonus. Sure, when they offered that to me, I took it. I have no idea why they had to pay that much. The report literally took me 5 minutes. I would do these for $5 fees all day long. It' significantly easier than the other large MSC that has the customized pizza shops for $0-$10 fees.

The MSC you describe as "El Cheapo" has amazing shops and amazing fees, not open to all shoppers. Pretty much every MSC has off the board shops that 95% of shoppers will never see.
There is a need to bonus closer shops if they cannot fill them with someone who finds value in the food. That was always my situation. Naturally, if I had kids at home or enjoyed the pizza myself, it would change my perceived value. Whenever possible I did give the pizza to my neighbor. At that time she had three teenage boys at home. I liked not having to waste the food, but since feeding them was not my responsibility it didn't really impact my bottom line, LOL!

For me to call my order in, get in the car and drive out and pick up the pizza, then return home, take the pics, crop and prep them for uploading and doing the report, the $20 I got paid for doing it was reasonable - for $5 it was and is not reasonable. My time is worth something. The El Cheapo fees, for instance, $17 for a car shop? If you think that's an amazing shop and an amazing fee . . . ?

........ You don't take those fees unless it fits your hourly rate to do the work. El Cheapo has paid me well in the past and I recall actually backing them up on this forum in the past because of this.

The base fees for posted jobs with this company are low. In some cases painfully low. OTOH, the bonuses have been anywhere from really good to jaw dropping. The non-posted jobs are very good with fees often starting above those of other MSCs for the same type of work.

I find it very interesting that when I mention the MSC I call El Cheapo and the $17 car fee, everyone seems to know just which company I'm talking about so obviously you all are aware that a lot of their shops pay too little for the work they want done. If you were seeing amazing jobs with amazing fees, you would not know which company I am talking about.

I think the reason everyone here knows who you are talking about is that we all get the emails about a $17 car shop. All mystery shoppers who are registered with this company are getting the emails. The point others are making is that, in addition to the "El Cheapo" $17 car fee, some of us are seeing some amazing jobs with amazing fees with this company. And bonuses offered to shoppers with a track record can be pretty good. So we know who you are talking about but apparently some of us are seeing much more than you are and we are offered some jobs with this company that are not on the Job Board or in the emails.
It's good to remember many of the MSCs get special projects. Unlike ongoing shop contracts, they often contact shoppers fitting the demographics or having the availability directly. Even MarketForce has had some decent paying, off the board projects in the past. I've also found subcontracted projects often don't go to the job boards.

Of course everybody knows who has the $17 car shops. The only requirement for these shops is to be breathing so everybody sees these shops, even those who have just registered and have no experience. The experienced shoppers are also seeing a lot more with the El Cheapo company. If the cheapo shops are all you are seeing, you aren't seeing it all.
The thread is 18 pages long. Most of it is about the topic. At this point there is nothing to add until the court appoints the executor of the estate.

If nothing new will happen for a few weeks, then other topics should be started with their own title and not mixed into this one.

Well towards the end there, NSS started mysteriously rejecting shops for very petty reasons. And I mean they would reject a shop a full month after the fact. So between the extra work, and the cost out of pocket for the rejected shops, I did come to expect a good bonus when they came back begging after leaving me holding the bill on $20+ pizzas. But honestly, I don't often do shops just because of free food. I need to be making some money for the time spent too.

Can we all please return to the topic of the thread????!!!!????

We are not spectacular at staying on topic here. There are many people here and just like in person conversations we meander a bit.

I have heard that volition screams and yells and deletes posts when thinga stray from the topic. Perhaps that environment is better suited for you?

I think it was the multiple punctuation at the end that made it sound demanding.

If some one wants to suggest a new title I can do that...also perhaps someone can write a quick recap to put on page 19 once the title is changed by me and then include directions to go directly to that page of the thread for updated info.
Hey guys and gals. I was with NSS for about 5 years. A few late checks and one missing one, but it all worked out. I have no clue when I will get my money from the shops for March, April and May. But i am owed about 700 bucks. I want my money.

Can anyone give me a break down of the last 19 pages of this forum? I simply cannot read that much.
I am going to write them as loses on my 2017 taxes..I do not believe they will pay me $500+

If you read from about page 13 on, you'll get most of the current, relevant information.
Otherwise, you'll just need to read the whole thing.

The good new is you only need to go back to page 13.

lol. Maybe someone has the time to do a "Reader's Digest Condensed Version." Best of luck to anyone willing to take it on. I doubt if it would eliminate new, repetitive questions anyway.

Even if someone reads the last 4 pages they will get this:

The owner died, NSS is closed, and there will be a very long wait for any money with a good chance of never getting paid.
I'll try to find time to create a thread with the basics some time tomorrow. Even if it people comment and it gets to be umpteen pages, the highlights will be on the first page. The problem with this thread is not just the length or the off topic posts. It is the 13 pages of speculation before we even found out he had died.

People are still going to come here and ask questions. There were two other threads about this client and people were asking questions without having seen this thread...but it will help.
If it is made a sticky until this is all resolved it will help even more.

I have been working with National Shopping Service for over 15 years. I have never had a problem. Now I have had two checks bounce and have not been paid for April and May. Cannot believe this is happening.
Yup. It's saddening. It's also financially disrupting. But that so many people are down these paychecks is saddening. Remember, it's not just us, it's also (possibly) the employees of NSS. And let's not forget the family of the deceased.
