Market Force - Lo Ball Payment

How about South? I grew up in Florida. I keep my hangers all hung going the same way. I never thought about why, but I suppose for evacuation--generally a hurricane. And I never encountered or thought about thieves who steal clothes, though I have some very nice garments. I also have nice guitars and electronics. And a home alarm system. And I live 2 miles from the sheriff's office.

I asked my roomie why he had his clothes hung alternating in the closet (ie, one hanger facing forward, the normal way a person hangs things in the closet, the next one hung over the bar from the back). He told me, it slows down a thief, he can't just grab a handful of hangers and take off.

Definitely East Coast West Coast. In the West, we are more worried about having to evacuate because of fire than having someone steal the clothes. In my area, thieves don't want the clothes, they want the electronics, cash, credit cards, and anything that looks like it could be quickly liquidated. We keep our clothes with all hangers all hung going the same way in case we have to quickly grab the clothes and run due to evacuation.

I used to be an editor for ACL. They have an internal rating system that does not allow all shoppers to see all shops that are available.

A Closer Look is not exactly the creme-de-la-creme of mystery shopping, after all.

Truth and logic are not what this place is about!

I feel your pain though. My IRL friend is an editor/trainer. She has stories!
I haaaaated editing. For both MSCs, Ardent and ACL. No more pain for me.

But I will persevere with logic and truth.

People, not deactivate just because you think a MSC doesn't have shops in your area. With some it may be that they DO NOT have an internal rating system and you can see what they have in your area and it's not much at the moment...but two years down the road they could land a big client and then you will be missing out on great shops.

John, in your case, ACL did not let you see the higher end shops because you did not do enough shops and earn a high enough score to see them. I promise you this is the truth. If you wanted to see the fine dining and more, you should have done a couple of the pizza and hot dog shops, done them well, and built up your score.

How do you know what shops I've done? I deactivated my ACL account because I have no intention of ever doing another pizza shop for them. In the 3 years I've done shops for ACL, about the only shops I've seen were the pizza shops. A few times they had a hot dog shop.

They may not have shown me some shops because of my income level. It's way too low for some shops. They do screen for income.

No. It's quality, I assure you. There were plenty of low-level shoppers who were allowed to keep shopping that feeding trough of a buffet shop that they used to have who were never allowed to see the fine dining or other really nice shops. I know of a few new shoppers who were only kept at ankle-biting level for a handful of shops because they wrote so well they graduated to a higher level early. I still shop for them and am in good standing in their upper tier status. I can pick and choose pretty much any client I want in my area and am given preference. I also do a lot of promo shops for them for new clients.
Oh, I see. In March you had the pizza shop rejected by ACL. Well no wonder you didn't get to see higher end shops.

I keep repeating this, there are no high end ACL shops in my area or anywhere near my area. They only offer pizza shops. I believe that has to do with my income level.

It takes a LOT for a shop to be rejected. ACL has a lot of narrative, but ACL is a company that really works with the shopper and will do almost anything to save a shop. They will let the shopper edit to correct errors, return to the location to get pictures, or go back and order a missed required item. They will allow the shopper to re-visit and re-do the shop.

I think most ACL shoppers know that quality is used to determine the shopper score and the shopper score determines the number of opportunities available to the shopper. If John wants to believe that his income keeps him from seeing more and higher level jobs, who cares? He wants to rationalize that a lack of quality is not the reason he doesn't see jobs. So what?
JerseyGirI, I don't believe that at all. I did maybe one non-purchase shop for them and I was subsequently able to see all of their shops. At least I think so because I saw and got to do a fine steak house for them without any haggling. Maybe they have even better shops that I don't see, but I doubt it. That was a really nice dinner. I also am offered promo shops. I don't do much for them, however, and I did the pizza place once...did not enjoy it and won't do it again.

Why do you think MSC ask about your income level? So they can target shops to the right person at certain incomes. If income didn't matter, they wouldn't ask about your income.
Roflwofl, I just don't like it when people post false information on the forum. A new shopper might see what John posted and think they shouldn't bother with ACL because they don't make enough money.

I know a shopper who had income of about 20,000 a year when she started. She was a reliable shopper who wrote good reports and quickly was promoted to a status where she could see higher end shops.

John, if you are making less than $20,000 a year I don't know how you can afford to live in California.

By the way, I deactivated my account with ACL because I did not like their shops and the timing required. As others on here have said, they won't do their shops either, for the same reason. I get plenty of shops from other companies and get 10 ratings most of the time.
Yes, I'm sure it stung a bit when ACL rejected your report. I get you had a hard time understanding how to do the shop correctly with the timings and everything. Some other companies don't have shops where they expect timings to the second and have simple reports. Good luck.
You don't get to see it. Only ACL reps do.

I understood the shop completely, have done a few in the past. On this one shop there was an issue with the timing. They asked me to correct it, so I did. Then they rejected the shop because I didn't get the timing right the first time. They asked me to do the shop over again. I basically told them UP YOURS. I correct the shop like you asked me too, and you turn around and reject it anyway, because I corrected it? ACL shops stay up for weeks. I've gotten calls from them to do pizza shops because they couldn't find anyone to do them. They just lost another shopper.

I've also notice many shops no longer post when you got paid. They use to post what day you got paid for each shop.

That's pretty much spot on, roflwofl.

That’s exactly why it’s important to make sure that shoppers know his information is incorrect.

I agree. You two are correct and I bow to your wisdom. Wrong information posted on the forum should be corrected because many new shoppers come to the forum to learn from experienced shoppers and they believe what they see posted. Clearly john does not want to admit that lack of quality causes a low shopping score and limits the quality and volume of shops a shopper sees, and I don't have a problem with him deceiving himself. But, when he continues to argue irrationally, there is the danger that newer shoppers may believe he knows what he's talking about. He is most definitely completely incorrect about a number of things he has posted and this is one of them.
"Clearly john does not want to admit that lack of quality causes a low shopping score ".....what did I just say in a previous post. Most of my scores are 10's.Clearly nothing I say will make a difference to you and a few others on here. You don't care about the facts. You've already cast judgement on people on here. There is a click on this board that sticks together, no matter what anyone says.

John, I am not part of any "clique" and I will argue with anyone who posts false information, no matter how long they have been a forum member. I don't know any of these people on this forum personally other than walesmaven, and I don't really "know" her, I just met her at a conference. Once.

I had a phone shop go south on me earlier this year. The scheduler worked with me to salvage what I could and, after the target contacted me via text message, allowed me to complete the shop via text.
