MF does check video when a client requests it. Eventually there will be a thread about how MF did him wrong.

Hey, but I have been with ACL since 2004 or so and have done many, many shops for them. Keep on plugging along and they have some pretty nice shops that will open up to you eventually. I have done some really fabulous dining shops and concerts for ACL in the past. This one particular private club restaurant in my area was really fun to do. The comedy club shop in his area made me envious, same with some of the dining venues I just saw out near Riverside.

Someone's abs and facial expressions at Market Force must be getting a hell of a workout.
John,

I'm not familiar with the area - I live on the East Coast. I used the option to search by city, state and typed in Riverside, CA. I just wanted to see what shops I could see and how far along I am on the ACL "scale." I'm thinking right in the middle which now motivates me to do more for them so I can see the restaurants that JAS was talking about. smiling smiley

JAS, that's a good idea you had. This thread made me wonder where on the ACL scale I fell because I've haven't done a lot, but I did do a nice restaurant once with a high reimbursement and an eyeglasses place. So I changed my area to Riverside, CA and I saw the grocery store, pizza shops, frozen yogurt (missed the one in my area), smoothie shop and movie theater. I did not see any other restaurants, flooring shop, wholesale club or flooring shop so I must be in the middle....lol

Where in Riverside did you see these other shops for ACL? I have never seen any other shops except for a few Hot Dog shops in my area.

Kim
If my area had all of the shop options Riverside does I would be golden. When there is a shop in my area I get a text or email and that's only about once a month. But I'll take what shops I can from them because they pay well.
I had an open audit for a cell phone shop. The store manager said they know who the mystery shoppers are. They ask a lot more questions than the normal customer.Your questions the MSC gives you to ask, give you away as a mystery shopper. The manager also said the last auditor was very rude to the employees. They liked having me there because I was very polite to them and didn't pick on every issue. I showed "GRACE"

I had another gas station open audit. The manager told me the last shopper they had wrote them up for some minor issue. Some mystery shoppers ruin it for others with their attitude. Some stores don't like mystery shoppers, because of that. Stop picking at every little issue. Show a little grace.

The manager THINKS they know who the shoppers are, LOL. I had a MSC rep tell me that during my round of convenience store shops she thought that they might know who I was and that the chain of stores were calling each other passing off a description of me and my car. They had my car make and color wrong, they had my hair color and build wrong. I went on to explain to her what I looked like and what vehicle I drove, and we got a good laugh about it.

I don't ask many questions, ESPECIALLY on cell phone shops--a good mystery shopper doesn't ask a lot of questions unless the guidelines state to do so (like some of the grocery store shops). For the most part, mystery shoppers are not supposed to ask questions, they are supposed to let the associate lead the presentation and the shoppers remain passive. I am surprised that after three years of being a shopper you don't know this.
You know, I did some thinking today about being a part of a clique. I'd say the forum as a whole is a clique of shoppers who band together to discuss their experiences and those who are outsiders are those who lie and do whatever it takes to just get paid, ethics flying out the window.

John, you are right, you are an outsider here. The other 99% or so of us have our differences and disagreements
from time to time, but overall we are together as a whole--what makes us a clique is our combined honesty and work ethics as we try to perform out assignments to the best of our ability without cheating or lying to the clients and the MSCs.
Many times they can tell who the shoppers are. You have standard questions you have to ask. I believe the store manager. He has far more experience in dealing with customers than you.
I don't think they read the forum, or if they do, they don't care.

You are part of a clique. Sine you call me an outsider, you're admitting you're part of a clique.
No, YOU have standard questions YOU have to ask. Apparently you and I are shopping on different levels. And, if you have standard questions you are supposed to ask, are you fudging them like you do everything else just so you can get paid?

So NONE of your guidelines have you asking certain questions to test the employee's knowledge?
Yes, there are standard questions on every shop, at least standard types of questions. Things you need to find out for sure. There are also standard statements or types of statements. I read about different levels of shoppers here too much and those statements just bring defense mechanisms out in people who think that 'those' who think they are in a certain level do not believe that others are on their same level. Lying and cheating aside, they do so to feel good. Although you can't really blame them for wanting to make themselves feel good, when it comes at the expense of others it's pretty transparent. I'm glad to be doing the $9 to $50 shops and if that makes me not on a level with certain other shoppers I hope they just leave me alone here and not jump my bones. Anymore, at least.
I don't do many cell phone shops because they don't pay enough for me to bother with them. But the shops I do have pretty generic questions that any person would ask. If you are finding them difficult to do without being pegged as a shopper, perhaps you shouldn't do them (instead of fudging on them).
Jersey, I have never "jumped" on you and if you aren't a lying, cheating person who likes to brag about it on an open forum, I don't see the need to do so.
Not you but SoCalDaddy, lol, and her flunkies, I meant flunkies, not flunky. I mean HIS/her

Right. I am in the clique of honest shoppers (most of the rest of us) and you are not.

This is where you mess up. Always criticizing people on this board. You seem to go out of your way to put people down. Who said anything about finding the shops hard or not doing them.
This is where you are mistaken. I don't always criticize people on this board. I don't go out of my way to put people down.

OTOH, I have observed that you consistently post about how you have lied on shops and encourage other shoppers to do the same.

I smell another deactivation coming then.
It wouldn't be hard for Marketforce or any other MSC to figure out who John from the Riverside, CA area is. Marketforce is known for deactivating shoppers for no reason, but if they browse the forum and see John's posts about how he lies on his shops, that gives them plenty of reason to give him the axe.

WOW you really do like trying to control and manipulate conversations. Don't you have a life beyond this site?
Your troll-like behavior makes it hard to resist pointing out how wrong your way of thinking is. But it's comical of you to point out that I post a lot when you always have a reply comment about it, lol.

Yesterday was light duty: 6 convenience stores, 3 post offices, and 4 grocery store retrieval visits. I was home by 6:30 and done cooking dinner and reporting by 9. I was pretty bored, so...

Edited for typing on my phone.

And yet you have time to try and control conversations and intimidate people on here. Do you do this on your shops? Why don't you find a hobby or take a yoga class. As I said, you do shops your way and I'll do them my way.
Pointing out that you lie on your shops and encourage other shoppers to lie on their reports is hardly an attempt at controlling or intimidating anyone. I've got plenty of hobbies, thanks. I just get bored easy.

Time for me to end this and just block you. Good night Gracie.
