King County District Court in Washington State has something to say to Mellissa and June. The court awarded a judgemnt to include collection costs against them. it was made enforceable in all 50 states. the court is mailing the judgement and order to make payment today.

So as they say pay me now or pay me later. This time it is now more expensive to try to defraud a shopper or two.
Vanster...good for you, I'm happy to hear someone was able to stop them. Do they lose their license as well?

Good job vanster. I came close to this with DSS. If you search you can find the thread. Melissa owed me over $200.00 for MONTHS (which were full of empty promises (read:lies)); and most of it was reimbursement which really hurt my pocketbook. I called the client and they were not pleased. I did get reimbursement after that, but then to get my actual payment I had to do some "creative googling". I found her home address and phone number and finally got paid. Even after I called her at home and she screamed obscenities at me, she said on this board she had no idea who I was, and that there was never a shopper named Susan. LOL

The fact of the matter is she is a liar, and bottom line a criminal. I have no idea how she lives with herself but I find her pathetic. Spread the word. I tried on Volition, but didn't get very far since it is so heavily moderated. I hope Melissa, June and their shady business all go under. I have all the emails, dates,and the posts here to prove what happened if she would like to try and defend herself...

Van has stated some interesting comments. Yes, I did call him a jerk and I probably would do it again. I lost my temper after one of his emails and if that is all I called him, so be it. It was not professional I must admit, but we all do have our moments.

And yes I did offer to pay Van if he could show a real need for the money. I also thought at that time of the statement Melissa had a check for scheduling on her way to me. She forgot to send it, she wrote it, but it never was sent. Van didn't show me that he really needed the money other than wanting his payment like every other shopper. I was not going to be responsible for Melissa's debt out of my own funds.

Van also has some comments that are not true. I have NEVER contacted a client. I do not even know who they are for DSS. I do know who some are by first name only when Melissa mentioned them. But, the clients wouldn’t even know who I was.

I did answer emails when Melissa did not. I felt it was my duty to be polite and tell you the shopper something. I only stated what I knew and what I stated was all I wrote and nothing else. I never hid anything. I probably told shoppers more than Melissa wanted me to.

The last time I talked to Melissa was the end of November. She was trying to get money from the clients to pay shoppers by having her attorney by sending demand letters. She stated she would get back to me as she stated she was going to pay me. I have not heard from her since. She owes me a LOT of money as she owes me for scheduling for April through September. Melissa asked me to resubmit my invoice so I thought maybe I would get paid, but that was over a month ago and I have not received anything yet. I doubt that I will.

I made the mistake all the months of telling Melissa to pay the shoppers first and then me. If I didn’t have any shoppers, I wouldn’t have anyone to schedule. So, she used my money to pay more shoppers. So, in the end I worked for free.

I do not know if Melissa has filed for bankruptcy. She had mentioned it
You have got to be kidding me. On 9/27/10 you said to me:

Melissa is trying to get caught up. She should not have stated dates. Believe me she is trying to get caught up. She is very nice and she does pay her shoppers. I can't say all that is goingon, but if you knew I blieve you would understand. You will get your payment.

I never heard another word from that unprofessional woman Melissa Benson.

And to get some other shopper's backs here - there is money that was outlayed in good faith for reimbursement that was never paid back so technically in my book - I see it as THEFT OF SERVICES. And as soon as you started being Melissa's mouthpiece June you brought yourself into it.
Whoever filed suit should consider adding the company/companies as named Defendants in any lawsuit. But if you contact them first, they will likely pay immediately to avoid a costly and sure-losing lawsuit. If they're a corporation -- and 99% are -- they must hire an attorney to defend the suit. So it's 1000-times cheaper just to pay the shopper.

It seems to me that you say whatever gets you out of the situation at any given time. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, since the court has apparently held you liable, whether or not you view yourself as such. As to Melissa, she has run her business into the ground, and alienated most everyone. It appears she has few options left.

Did anyone filre a complaint to MSPA and Attorney General of Washington State yet? A Class Action Lawsuit shall be filed against Melissa Benson and DSS and every shopper to whom she owes money should be added as Plantiffs.

Her website [www.DirectSchedulingServices.com] is still up and it seems like she is still in business and trying to scam others.
My BBB complaint just came back tonight as closing due to no response (big surprise here!) after two attempts to contact Melissa.

Wow. No surprise. That is why I questioned you a while ago about if you had also contacted the company. The BB has no teeth. But sometimes it does work, but only for companies that care about their rating. It seems many MSCs do not.
I'm out $13 for a <Ooops! Be careful of ICA violations!> shop I did back in May in Chicago for DSS. (Secret Shopper has taken over this family business shop and I say thank you!)

This behavior is bad for business and for all the shoppers out there. I say shame on you Melissa, June and everyone who tries these scams.

I am so glad someone linked here or I might have been taken by her, too. What a train wreck! Have you guys gotten your money? She's on Prophet, still using people. I am SO thankful for this forum and the balanced info here!

June is another POS in my opinion who will say anything to get the attention away from her. She's just as guilty as that *itch Melissa who at this point I hope lost her house based on the amount of money she stole from everyone.

Direct Scheduling, no, I think Charlie is referring to Ramack and to June. She is still scheduling.
I actually found that d**chebag Melissa Benson on Facebook once and had to sit on my hands to not put the nastiest message ever on her wall.

Seth, do you have a link? Are you referring to Ramack (JuneRSS, who, after scheduling for several companies which disappeared owing shoppers money, is still scheduling)? Or are you saying that Melissa Benson, who used to run Direct Scheduling Services and disappeared owing many shoppers money, is back in business? If DSS is back in business, this would be an opportunity to many who are owed money to make another attempt to get what they are owed. I clicked on the old DSS link and it appears to be a gaggle of mystery shopping advertisements and there is a notation that the domain directschedulingservices.com is for sale.
