HS BRANDS Payment delay

The email is payments@Hsbrands.com

I have not received payment for June either....

Thank you for the email.

I just got a response from Jackie who says that payments for June are being made today and tomorrow and will be pending for the next 3-5 days before we see anything in PayPal.

Wow.

So, by “Around the 15th” they must mean “within a week of the 15th as long as you complain by the 15th.”

100 days later.......

I just got the same exact email. Clearly, the common response of “60 to 75” days no longer applies to June because, by my math, the days are now 79 from June 30. This is the 4th month in a row that I’ve seen no rhyme or reason or can comprehend their payment system. Whatever their issue is, I don’t want to deal with it anymore. As soon as I see this last hundred bucks, I’m out. And of course, I hope they would feel the loss of a shopper who did a good deal of their shops and always scored a 9 or a 10, but probably not…
I also got the generic email about payment. KSS is great and I will continue to accept shops from them, just not ones from HS any longer. They only had one restaurant shop I am interested in, but I will go there on my own for a frozen custard once in a while. No more expensive oil changes since I can get those from other MSPs that pay in a reasonable amount of time.
I have just a general question. Y'all think HS Brands actually cares that we're all complaining about how slow they are to pay? (I swear, they used to be pretty good paying decently a while back.) Do you think our comments concern them or make a difference in prompting them (and other MS companies) to make changes?
Back in the prior decade, I completed 21 dining assignments for a now defunct MSC named J,C. & Associates. The pro column included I was permitted to dine alone, my fee was all inclusive, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the report was easy, the shop window seven days and any time the eatery was serving. On the con side for some, but not me, was that the pay took, according to my records approx. 60 days. At that time I was also contracted with BestMark, before they fired me. Their dining reports were miserable, there was not a fee, I was required to pick a specific date, a guest was required and they assigned the meal period. My point is that it is different strokes for different folks.

My last shop for SS paid me $20 + $25 for food. I was NOT required to have a guest and the report was easy. The completion was 2 1/2 mos. ago and I have, as yet, not been paid; that works for me, as the enjoyment of the food and lack of restrictions are of paramount importance to me but certainly might not be for other folks.

Many years ago, a poster on Volition stated the fee amount was not important to her, as long as it was quick; I responded she would be a perfect fit for Trendsource.

It depends - where are you complaining?

No, I don't think any MSC cares about what is posted on this forum (aside from when MSC employees post here to defend the legitimacy of their company after a fraud panic).

But..

Yes, I do think that if a large concerned group voices their concern to those who are in the position to enact change, it will happen.

In this case, it sounds like HS Brands has one backlogged employee handling payments (or at least one person who has been responding to payment related email inquiries from most forum posters).

Perhaps if the payments person gets enough stressful emails, they will escalate their issue to the boss one way or another? The payments person could complain in passing about their inbox overload, and someone might hear and realize there is an issue. Or the payments person might go to their supervisor and tell them about how they have gotten 500 emails today and they need the supervisor or an assistant to help process requests.

Personally, I don't mind if the MSC has a longer than usual pay cycle, but I do care when they have failed to make payment a week after their promised process date without notice... or when the pay date is changed without notice.

I don't think that complaining about how they should have a faster pay processing cycle in general is appropriate or necessary, but at this point HS Brands seems to be behind the payment date specified in contracts... after changing that payment date to allow for an additional 15 days of processing time, without notice to those they contract with.

Transparency and honesty on their part would make this a bit easier to swallow. When an MSC is honest about their long pay processing time, proprietors can make budgeting decisions accordingly.

My shops from April 1 were paid on July 22.

I still have shops from June 1 that are listed as "Payment pending."
I agree. I did the HS Brands shop on May 1 with a 10/10 rating and did not get paid until the end of August- FOUR MONTHS later- In spite of my direct contacts with their accounts payable department. This long payment delay is completely unacceptable in any industry and violates this company’s written payment policy, which they clearly do not care about honoring.

How can HSS be a “reliable and responsible” company when they took FOUR MONTHS to pay me, although I contacted accounts payable directly and they did not comply with their written payment policy?

I'm wondering if you ever got paid for this? I'm waiting on payment (through PayPal) for a shop I did in July.
Hi @janetko22yahoo.com, I emailed them and July shops will be paid "around" October 30th. And August shops will be paid "around" November 30th. (They used the quotes this way, not me)
Still waiting on a July 11 shop payment...88 days past the end of July when their own guideline state 75 days after the last day of the month the shop was submitted. Yeah, right.
I am not going to apply for any more assignments from HS Brands cause I am afraid that they will go under and leave everyone hanging. Money is too dear to for that.
That is actually very wise. I had not thought about that. Have they always been this slow or is this something recent? They could very well be gong under.

Wow that is great. The shops I did in September I am expecting after Christmas. How did u get them to pay so fast?

Wow. Was this a particular client or a special deal where you were promised quick payment? This is much faster payment than the payment for most shops from HS Brands/Service Sleuth.
I specialize in revealed shops. They usually take 1-2 hours and are 15-20 pages long. Basically a surprise inspection. But to my knowledge I’m on the same pay system as everyone else. After my first shop it too 2 1/2 months to get paid, it’s since gotten better.
And here I am still waiting for my July payment :-/
it has said "payment pending" on the site all week but I'll count it when it lands in my bank account
Yep, 3&1/2 months now. What a lack of respect.
I will dump them after (if) I get paid.
HS brands clearly is not honoring their payment promises to shoppers. I finally got paid FOUR MONTHS LATER - Not an acceptable business practice in any Industry.
