When the USPS Changes from *Company X* to *Company Y*....

We're working on this, I always hate to put things here until they are fully solidified, but indications are that the box will be reimbursed and it will be added to the form.

You might want to look at Question #71. I have read it three times. I know what they are asking, but it makes no sense as it is written. (There are some grammar and verb issues.)

Otherwise, my only general question is: Do we have a minimum weight or is the requirement gone?

I'll have them check 71 as well, thank you. The two things I know they are re-evaluating right now is the weight issue and the box.

Thank you for being so great at updating the forum and answering questions as you get them!

I'd like to talk to my scheduler, but his/her name is not listed on any of my shops, and I don't see them listed earlier in this thread. How would I go about getting in touch with that person?

I can't remember for this platform, will my applications go away if someone else is assigned the shops?

Practice helps. You can browse at various places in th PO. You can take out your cellphone and pretend to use it while making observations. You can also sneak glances while talking to the clerk. Lastly, do it after the transaction.

Just do the jest you can.

Thanks vlade5394!
I've only done about 20 PO shops.
Just read that our guidelines say to take our observations before approaching the counter. My post offices have everything in the same small room and the clerks face the retail displays and work counter. More often than not, I am the only one in the room! I've always felt the clerk's eyes boring into my back as I browsed but I could finish up and run out without having to look at them!. Pretending to text while I check for the forms is a great idea. It will be easier now that we do not have to identify supplies by their UPC codes ( Don't get any ideas Summit!! Haha!).
Overall, the report is easier, and I thought the old report was easy!....fewer comments and no narrative.....wish we knew why the 30 minute break rule tho...has anyone used their mobile app to report?... or is it something new?

I have a question about purchased boxes. I bought boxes in bulk on line and had them shipped to me. The last company would only reimburse on the box cost and not the freight to me, much to my surprise. Buying a box locally was double the cost of a shipped box including the freight, This made no sense to me as the client had to pay more for the local boxes, Does this policy still exist?

question 71.... my goodness how many questions are there in the report now?

why do you ask a question when you already know the answer? Is the reason for you to continue to whine?

do you really think that your whining is going to change the number of questions?

a fabulous solution to your consternation about the "how many questions are there in the report now" = don't accept any assignments.

now do you feel a little better, princess?
That's a bit harsh brian!

Lucky7s, the report is essentially the same as it used to be. The old company had as many entries, but grouped several into one question. This one numbers all the entries.

edit: You have to look for the flag now!

Thanks for the wealth of useful informaton in this thread.

I hope no one yells at me for this. I know the company doing the shops, but I had no idea they had a shopmetrics site, which explains why I haven't seen any of the shops posted yet. I have only known about a sassie site. I googled the shopmetrics site. Do I have to register for it separately? It is not taking my sassie log-in for the MSC.
Yes, it's a separate site. I have two different log-ins.

exactly...but i guess lucky7s didn't take the time/trouble to actually compare the 2 reporting forms but just blithely went ahead with a posting and a whine about the number of questions. i'm not fond of cliches but in this case there is one that comes to mind and is apropos = look before your leap.
Egads -- so I have to apply to be a shopper for the same company because this is shopmetrics and the other is sassie? sigh (they aren't the only ones, of course, with multiple sites). Thanks for the response!

my suggestion is to log into the MSC and not the scheduling company and then the scheduling company does the assigning.
A few updates:
- Yes, you have to register again. They are totally separate systems.
- New guidelines have been uploaded, the weight of the box needs to be 1 to 2 lbs.
- If you click the "more" button to the right of your assigned shop, you can see your scheduler's email address. It's under the "work hours" section because that is the only way we could get it in there. If you can't find it, email me at info@summitscheduling.com
- Question 71 has been re-worded.
- A place to submit the receipt for your box has been added to the form.
- Still waiting on clarification if you can ship to zones other than those listed in the guidelines if you pay the difference, I should know today.

Thanks for your patience, I'm sure things will be running smoothly in no time. I will be in and out this weekend but will keep this thread updated as I know things.

The other side to this coin is that shoppers get very upset if you do things with their personal information that they didn't consent to - such as download their information from one shopping platform and upload it to another.

Good point. Honestly, it's not a big deal. Shopmetrics sign up is very easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes anyway. No worries on my end. :}
I have another question, this time about zones. Previously, for ready post or regular box shops, i had to ship to a location outside of the "NDC" area I'm in. For instance, lets say my zip code is 02886, I could not ship to another location whose zip code began with 028 even though it was a different city, was zone 1, and had an actual zip code of 02889. The "NDC" (post office generated code for something) was the same even though the zip codes and cities were different. In fact, all zip codes starting with 013--029, would be the same NDC and I would not have been able to ship to any of those zip codes.

There does not seem to be anything regarding this in the guidelines, and I have looked here and don't see it addressed. For my 1st shops I will ship well outside of my particular NDC range to be safe, but it would be great if the NDC was not an issue as it would give many more shipping options for me. I'd greatly appreciate guidance on this issue, thx!

edit: here is the chart that gives the NDC zones. If the zip you're shipping to has a * by it, you are in the same NDC zone.

I have a question in to the account manager to confirm shipping to other zip codes/same city.

I really love the new flag check requirement. I have seen more than one place where the flag really should have been retired. My family does Retirement Ceremonies for flags every Independence Day. It's the proper way to respectfully dispose of and honor a flag that is no longer able to be flown. The flag is raised for the final time and taken to half mast. The kids get involved and honor each original colony one stripe at a time and take them to be burned by the burn master. They are then given a proper burial. It's one of my favorite days of the year!
For Summit Scheduling -- I've reviewed the guidelines in anticipation of scheduling a shop, but right now, the only ones in my area are already assigned. I'd really like to see the shop report/questionnaire that is being discussed so much in this topic, but it won't allow that. Is there anyway to see the shop report? Thanks!
Actually, the new report looks like it might be a little easier.......I'm not going to say how and jinx it. I've done over 60 of the old reports and, well, I'd rather do the new one. Fingers crossed we get to mail outside of the recommended zones and pay the difference smiling smiley
I just checked the MSC's job board to find out I'd been assigned all seven stores I applied for. It would have been nice to have an email telling me that.
