Finishing tri-tip salad from yesterdays lunch...."Stone Fire Grill" (the best) traveled 50 miles RT for this lunch, huge portions, fresh, healthy, run by woman...third one in L.A. friend and I had a great time.

I took some 2nd graders to McDonalds. Hadn't been there in quite sometime. They now give you a number to put on your table and do table service?!

I had a mushroom swiss burger.

Pork loin in the crockpot with apple juice, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and a little 5-spice. Rice. Some sort of veg I suppose. Baguette if the dough is ready. Key lime pie.

Leftover stew. The recipe yielded a mild but flavorful stew. I adjusted for the addition of arugula which substituted for some of the required kale. The next carnation of the stew will include more herbs and more veggies. Bottom line: this is basically a keeper recipe.

I am at a hotel shop that does not include supper. But I have a kitchen so I brought some mac and cheese with ham and some V-8 juice.

Last night I experimented with an old favorite supper. I made angel hair pasta with pesto sauce. The new part was that I smoked fresh shrimp over alder wood to add to it. Sooo glad that I made enough to have more tonight! Add a little Parmesan cheese plus garlic bread, enjoy with a smooth red wine. Heavenly, simple, food.

Marinading chicken in my newly found:
"LEA@PERRINS Marinade for Chicken", and slow baking for a couple hours, sauce acts as a dip for french bread....baked potato, avocado and tomato salad.

Well, the mini-smoker is working so well that I got more salmon and will smoke that for tonight's supper. Probably will finish up the twice baked potatoes and garlic spinach.

Taking leftover smoked salmon with me tomorrow night to have for supper at a hotel shop. I need to think about what to add for an in-room picnic! Suggestions ???

In room picnic in my hotel room. Cold smoked salmon, brie, French bread, fresh cantaloupe and strawberries, red wine. A little dark chocolate for dessert.
