Chipotle Shops

The rofl taco was a bust. The crew member was very stingy with all of the ingredients. Instead of using the stands, she laid them out like tostados. The tacos were fully loaded, but not enough to make an extra meal out of them. I'll stick with bowls from now on.

OMG, you are killing me with these cinnamon-sugar desserts! Can't happen soon enough for me! LOL

Aw. I probably should have kept my mouth shut. Now, the level of awareness is up and all the Chipotle employees have probably been alerted to be stingy on single tacos and I'll never get a huge taco again.
I ordered a single taco yesterday and I think it may have outted me as a shopper. I hope not, but I had 2, yes 2, table visits with someone asking me how my food was. I have been shopping Chipolte several years and never once before asked how I liked the food.
How does it feel to have a taco named after you?

Not giving up on my sofritas bowl or veggie bowl. I LOVE THEM. I could skip the chips though. I do not like the chips and it's such a waste as I throw them out after eating enough to rate them. Today, my bowl was delicious (as usual). My chips and guacamole were free ha ha. I ate a few chips and threw them away as usual.
I doubt you were outed. I think they have upped the training on table visits and such. At the shop I did on Friday, I noticed they were greeting people entering, saying "bye" to folks leaving, and chatting with customers at tables. I even had someone ask how my food was. I have been shopping Chipotle for about 2 years, and have never had, or even seen, a table visit before Friday.

I did my second shop for the month Saturday. I was ignored as usual. There was a table of crew members and a supervisor next to me Saturday talking shop. No one mentioned the ROFL taco - smiling smiley

@weatherman2111 Wow, sorry you have not had good experiences with your schedulers. I have had two over the last 5+ years and they both have been truly great. I have been lucky apparently because they have been very understanding when there is a snafu or schedule changes have to happen. I also shop another venue with the same MSC and they use the same schedulers so I do a lot of shops with them...about 2 a month which for me with a full time job is a lot. I do a little here and there with other companies as well.

Okay, I haven't done my shop yet this month but that kept running in the back of my mind. I am pretty petite but seriously a single taco might be noticed as a bit odd. I hope it doesn't out me and I have been thinking about it.
It won't be odd, and you won't be outed. I'm sure they see all types of orders.

When I was there on Saturday, I saw someone order a bowl with just fajitas and beans, nothing else.

Would be better with a big dollop of guac.

The very first time I went to a Chipotle (five or more years ago) I had no idea what to order. I ordered two tacos. I remember going away hungry. I don't suppose the server thought I was a shopper?

The person didn't get any salsas, cheese, meat, guacamole, or sour cream. When she got to the register, the cashier said, "The usual?" and they laughed about it.

Here's some food for thought: the kids chips I bought on Sunday lasted until last night. The full size chips don't make it home.

I just did my first Chipotle shop mostly so I can get the training fee that you get after doing your first shop.Ugh, I had never been to this location before and it was unimpressive to say the least. Bad service, dirty restaurant, food had clearly been sitting for a while. Not sure if these will be worth my while if I don't even get a decent meal with a long report and a lower fee.

I saw that the ordering requirements said I could get any size chips. I tried to order the smaller/kids chips and was told they could give me the smaller size but I would still be charged the regular price. Any one else encounter this? The chips were stale anyway but wondering if this was the norm or just another problem at this location.
They were going to charge you full price for a smaller size? Did they say why?

The only issue that I have is that they charge me for 3 tacos when I order 2 tacos. I always make sure they fix that before I pay.

When I tried to order the kids size bag, I was told that there is only a $0.25 difference and that I would be much better off with the larger bag.

Those are the kind of restaurants that the corporation needs to know about. One awful outlet ruins the reputation of all. Your report is needed badly. It is all in the details.

Sarah - make sure you report that they said the price of a kids chips is the same as an adult bag. That's definitely incorrect and Chipotle needs to know.

No explanation given, she seemed confused that I asked for them and just said "The ones from the kids meal? I can give them to you but I have to charge for the regular ones."

Reminds me of a response from another shopper who said that when she ordered the salsa on the side, as I have done, she was charged the chips-and-salsa price. I agree that narrative regarding the chips price should be in the report. Chipotle can do with the information what it wants. If I were running the store, it would be a good topic for a staff huddle.

Are the shops even worth it? How much do they usually pay?

I don't think they're worth it. The pay has constantly decreased for the amount of narrative. For some people, they like the flexibility of the shops so they continue to do them. For me, the pay is now no better than any other FF shop. Don't expect the compensation to ever increase because their vendor banned me for declining the shops.
It is info they NEED to know but unfortunately, the editors disallow it....they are sticklers to keeping with exactly what is asked and zero notices of other items are allowed. ZERO! Before the sickness issue saw something that positively needed to be noted and was told if it is not on the sheet do not tell us we do not want to know.

Interesting. I have not had the same experience. A cashier who doesn't know prices should provide a training/teaching moment for the restaurant. (Isn't there a spot on the questionnaire about whether the charges were correct? That's where I would put it.)

I disagree, I don't do other FF shops but at $21, my meal today was $8.82 so that's a free meal plus $12. I've seen the MOD pizza very tempted to do those but that MSC has a very low flat fee I think it just comp the meal so I have yet to do those. It's definitely not $21 even when they bonus I've seen it go up to $16 and the pizza is close to $10.

I don't think that issue would be disallowed because being charged correctly is one of the questions. What was the issue you saw that the editor rejected?

Thanks!!
While there are any direct questions about food safety, they do ask about gloves worn, double dipping, and cross contamination. The issue you saw didn't fit into those categories?
