The October shops would not be assigned until October 1st ........ IF they were going to be assigned. I do not use the private Chipotle Facebook the MSC provides, but I am told by shoppers who do that they announced on the Facebook page that Chipotle has stopped its shopping program. I am guessing that, tomorrow, instead of the schedulers emailing October assignments, they will email the news that the program has ended.
I still like their food, even paying out of pocket. I can get 2 meals out of a bowl. I like that they try to be mostly non-gmo.
Okay I am still pretty new so I didn't realize shops came out the first of the month. And obviously not on the Facebook page either. This makes me so sad. Thank you for the update. I was getting used to eating there about once a week!

I should have seen this coming with the "guest survey" codes on the bottom of the receipts. Speaking of which, only after you to go to the website do they even say you get a chance to win free burritos for a year, which honestly is the cheapest way they could go about this. Jack in the Box at least offers/offered a chance to win $10,000 and Walgreens offers a chance to win $3,000 (used to be $10,000 as well). Steak burritos daily for a year only total $2,737.50 (Houston area price) and the prize probably does not include queso, chips, guacamole, or drinks.
Yes, it was announced on their FB page. Effective immediately, which is odd. Did Chipotle give the msc any notice? This brings back memories of losing Cheesecake Factory shops sad smiley

From what I heard, there was almost no notice when the MSC had to reduce pay the last time by 16% ($25 to $21). That's when I started taking fewer shops and filling in with other opportunities.
That sucks!

Well, I guess none of this matters....just got word today that effective immediately Chipotle is discontinuing their mystery shopping program. I am beyond bummed.

I ate there once a week also. I'm sad about this!

If this is allowed can you post what the FB page said but edit out the compay?

The message on the company's dashboard says Chipotle decided to cancel the mystery shopper program effective September 30. The MSC expressed thanks to its shoppers and gave the assurance that the MSC
WILL follow through with payment as usual and direct deposits will be October 20.

The MSC's other two clients are unaffected, and I just got my October assignment for one of them.

That MSC had all of their eggs in one basket.

Not all its eggs, but far too many of them. The MSC's bankers are likely quite nervous and the MSC's other clients may well be wondering about having a plan B should the MSC cease operations altogether.
I have never once eaten Chipotle on my own dime. Guess it's back to making bowls at home again.
This is hittiing me in the pocketbook big. I was doing up to 12 shops a month at about $14 a shop (and a free lunch,) I wish Chipotle and the MSC well. The MSC is also taking a big hit. I should have realized something was up when I started seeing my Chipotle scheduler working with another MSC. Best wishes to all.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.

Ironically, it's not that big of a loss for me, ever since they cut their total pay to $21 I was practically doing them as a favor to my scheduler, anyway. A burrito and chips in NYC costs about $14 (I never figured out how to spend a half hour there on a single taco) and it costs $5.50 in round trip subway fare for me to do them, so I practically treated them as reimbursement-only shops. Sad too see them go, but they stopped being a moneymaker for me long ago.
They will probably go to ACL in the future.

Any chance they may go with a different MSC?

Thanks rofl taco. I'm glad the MSC has other clients. Even still, this must be a big hit on them.

The kinds of QSR shops that ACL does, it would be just my luck. No thanks!

I was doing them every Sunday since January. It was nice not to have to think about what to have for lunch. I went there today out of habit.

But the owner of the MSC has a great personal relationship with Steve. When I was in training as an editor for the MSC, the owner and I talked and emailed back and forth a lot, and she talked about Steve quite a bit. They are pretty good friends. If Chipotle is going to do a shopper program I am pretty positive they will go back to her company.
Okay, JAS, that's good to know. ACL was purely conjecture on my part. I wish the MSC had more clients in this area. I enjoy working for them.

Me too. I am sure they will try to get some new clients, that's a pretty major account and a huge loss of income.
Yes, it looked like every single location was shopped. That is a major hit! Now I have to figure out what to replace it (food and money) with, and pizza is not an option. That was a pretty nice gig.
