Chipotle Shops

Well I just got word from my scheduler that it was Chipotle that decided to end the program, not the MSC. I emailed her back and asked if the MSC will be looking to getting new clients. Let's see what she says.

Dr.Squash, what's the chance that another company in the same city and state is also family owned and has the same name?

Okay, so Deanna emailed me back and said that yes, they are working on picking up new clients. So maybe not ready to dissolve quite yet, or like Dr. Squash suggested, it's a different company with the same name.

This is a stock answer. As an IC herself, Deanna would have no authoritative knowledge of the MSC's next moves. But common sense would say that every MSC is always in the market for new clients. The only question is how aggressive and successful is their sales effort.

Deanna would definitely know what's going on. She's been with them from the beginning. She used to be both an editor and a scheduler way back when before Chipotle had as many locations. When I first started editing for them is when she moved strictly into scheduling because she just didn't have as much time. You really don't know how tight knit this particular MSCs inner circle is. When I was an editor for them, Trish, Deanna, Tracey, Corey (and others), and myself emailed quite a bit back and forth. I am not an editor for them anymore, but I promise you Deanna knows what's going on. I could just email Tracey tomorrow and get it straight from her, but I trust what Deanna says is the truth.

Possible but relatively unlikely. Another thought occurred to me though: who authenticates that those comments are coming from who they say they are? i.e. someone who wants to create FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about Chipotle and its well-known MSC?
I'd hate to see the MSC go. They were so easy to work with and I liked getting my shops in my inbox at the start of every month, knowing I would make X amount of money from them monthly, and their editors and schedulers were always wonderful to work with.

Looking around, found this post on Indeed.com:

Being your own boss!
CO-OWNER (Current Employee) – Denver, CO – August 15, 2017
I actually own xxx, along with other family members. This is a small business and we are currently looking at dissolving it. Again it is a small business in a very competitive sector that had many much larger players.

Taking it with a grain of salt, given that most of the comments seem to be about a different company. But the timing seems right.

I snooped around and found the Indeed post in question. While the company does share the name with the MSC, most of the posts on the indeed page are about "products" and "instruments" and most of the people posting there seem to be electricians, delivery drivers and other industrial-type jobs. This could be a case of similarly named companies.

Of course the person saying they are a co-owner of the business could actually be from the MSC and has posted on some sort of industrial company's indeed by mistake.
They have another client in the Bay Area that's a high end fast food shop. I was selected to do two locations, 4 shops per month but got tired of the long lines at one of their locations (15 to 20 people) and wanted to cut back to do the one location. Hope that the MSC will rebound but will take some time to recover.
Yes, it's possible the Indeed post is not true, but if it is - my point of posting it was that they had much more than 24 hours notice of the end of the program. (mid-August)

Could you post the link to Indeed.com with this reference to the Chipotle MSC? I have tried to Google it but can't find it.
Posting the link would reveal the name of the MSC and would be an ICA violation, which is the reason for the heavy editing and moderation in the above posts.

However, the post was on indeed.com

If you google indeed.com with the name of the company and co-owner, you will find it. It is under the company's employee reviews.
Yeah, I looked too, and all the posts were about an electrical/industrial company with the same exact name.

I still can't find it. Maybe it was removed.
Nope. Still there. Google "indeed.com XXX Co-owner (Current employee)" and it is the first thing that comes up on the Google search. XXX - insert the company name

It is just a short post in a list of other posts made by employees of the company. And the company does not appear to be the MSC, it is an engineering-type company that employs overseas employees.

If you just Google the company name, you will find another company with the same name that specializes in industrial services.

I can't imagine they only had 24hr notification and anyone who thinks they did has likely beed drinking their kool aid, as their longtime shoppers tend to do. Unless they were just getting orders for shops every month, which is indeed possible but not very probable, they had some sort of contract with the MSC. Perhaps that contract ran Oct 1 - Sept 30, but normally the MSC would have started on the next contract negotiation at least a month ago. While it's very possible the client negotiated that contract and then never signed it, vut again, I wpuld imagine tthe contract would have been expected to be signed weeks ago. Certainly more than 24 hours.

Yeah, I am sure they knew more than 24 hours in advance, but maybe they were hoping that the client would change their minds. It wouldn't have mattered to me if I knew 3 months ago or 3 hours ago, really.
Deanna said that it was a 17 year relationship that has ended. I also trust what she says.

Wow. Wonder why it was Chipotle idea
Because they have suffered a huge loss of income since the bouts of illness first 2 years ago and then again more recently. They tried to gain business through a few ideas that haven't worked out well, such as the rewards program, chorizo, and most recently, queso. They also ran some coupons and freebie deals trying to gain their customer base back, and that actually just cost them money and didn't help that much. This MS program undoubtedly cost them a HUGE, HUGE amount of money.
Ha, it was all my fault. I just contacted someone hoping to get my account activated and start shopping Chipotle.

They also expanded very quickly and oversaturated a lot of markets, or moved into markets where there wasn't much demand for them. In New York there's practically a Chipotle almost every few blocks.
I was one of the shoppers who joined this summer when they started online training. While certainly not a veteran shopper I'd done shops for about 30 different MSCs previously and was blown away at how shopper-friendly this MSC was. I certainly wish them the best. I'm lucky enough to be in a market where the SeeLevel food delivery project is happening and I tried ordering Chipotle via PostMates to try the queso, but that app kept yielding a message that there weren't enough drivers, so I got delivery via a different app that doesn't offer Chipotle. By the way, when they did the online training I noticed that I got a $1 fee in my account, which is $1 more than I've ever been paid for taking guidelines training/tests from any other MSC!

Deanna has a job scheduling another company for awhile.
Yes, she sure does. She's been doing that for several months now.
Are any shoppers going to Chipotle on their own dime other than me? I got the queso in my bowl on Sunday, and I love it. It tastes like what I got in LA.

Well, I bought a Chipotle gift card (some deal at the supermarket) thinking I could use it for shops, so I will have to return to use it up. I do like their food, just not their chips.
I like their taco shells. I wonder why the taco shells are always light and crisp but the chips rarely are? The chips used to be pretty good about 2 years ago and before, then they changed something.

I used to really like their food. Haven't been more than a few times in the last year because it's veen gross. Their steak used to be all steak and rarely any fat, now every piece is fatty.
