Well, I bought a Chipotle gift card (some deal at the supermarket) thinking I could use it for shops, so I will have to return to use it up. I do like their food, just not their chips.

If it's any consolation, that gift card will go farther not used for shops since you don't have to buy the chips you hate.

I like their food as well, but I usually do not buy chips if not required for a shop. I don't particularly like or dislike their chips, at least when prepared properly.
I go on my own dime, on a semi regular basis. The last two times, they were out of hard shells (taco shells). They said they needed to make more. So I think they make them on a regular basis, but that fact that they were out, twice now, does not want to make me go back.

Well I just got word from my scheduler that it was Chipotle that decided to end the program, not the MSC.

Chipotle has over 2200 locations. Of course if was the client, not the MSC that cancelled. Even if the fees were cut, they would not drop their biggest client.

All of the ShopHouse stores were closed in March 2017.
Pizzaria Locale has less than 10 locations?
Tastymade has one location? Did they ever expand?

Losing Chipotle killed more than 95% of the MSC's work.
I only wrote that as a validation, since someone else had written that it was the MSC who decided to end it (which seemed very strange indeed).
I loved the chips, but they were always hit or miss. I don't buy them on my own. I just buy the bowls, and I ask for a little more meat.

Yes, I always ask for a little more meat as well, always except for with crispy tacos because there isn't room in them! But, now I will make my bowls at home, no more Chipotle for me because I won't pay for it.

Now one thing I did find with the chips when I was forced to order them was that they were rarely crisp enough, so I would eat a few off the top and dig to the bottom to make sure that they were the same, then take them home and put them in the toaster oven to get crisp when I was ready to eat them. That worked and they were good enough. Not like the old days before they changed the recipe, but good enough.
When you do 20 - 25 a month was it within the same geographical area? Does it not get hard to provide granular feedback each time.
I didn't know the recipe for the chips had changed. I started shopping them in January, and the chips were fine until May. That's when they got inconsistent. I used the stale ones as dippers for my bowl, or I made nachos the next day.

I'm so sorry you didn't get a chance to shop them! I'm still going to go on Sundays to get my weekly bowls until I can find my alternative.

I think they actually changed right around the time of the first health scare. No one said that they changed, but I noticed a difference in the texture and flavor, and so did my husband. I don't know why yours were okay from January to May, I guess they were cooking them properly, but the flavor and texture a few years ago was soooo much better. They are more grainy in texture and rarely are cooked properly. Mexican corner restaurant, here I come! I could sit and drink margaritas at El Rincon and munch on their chips and salsa all day smiling smiley

Its ok. When I knew when the training was I should have taken off. I usually have that day off when they would be in my town but my boss had me working.

Be nice if they bring it back in a few years. I will still go to
i used to live around the corner from Chipotle and I'd go regularly only for chips and guac, my late-night snack. It was a steal at $1.89 (oh, I remember). The chips were almost always fresh; they had too much turnover to go stale except once in a while at the end of the night. And the guac was sooo good. The price kept going up so I stopped going. I am only about a mile away now but I never go anymore.
Am I the only one who finds it odd that this msc has not sent out a formal email announcing that the program has ended? Luckily I belong to their Facebook group, but not everyone does.
In addition to the Facebook announcement, there is an announcement posted on the shopper dashboard of the website. I do not belong to their Facebook group, but I read the announcement when I logged in.
I do not belong to either of them. Is it the same message on both pages

On a side note what happens if I am traveling and this company does other shops and I see one of their shops? How will I know

I know we can not name the MSC and the client in the same post
Hi Isaiah, here's what SoCalMama wrote about it.

From what I understand, they don't have many shops with their other clients and you have to get training for those shops as well, so they are pretty much all taken by trained shoppers already (they don't have those clients in my area).
They have another client on the East Coast, Shake Shack. Unfortunately, the closest one to me is about 90 minutes, and even though I eat there every time I am in that area, I haven't been invited for the training. If I could add lunch at that place, I would probably make up a once a month route in that area.
On Oct 1st an explanatory note was posted on my dashboard stating that the program ended. They also said that payment will go out on Oct 20 and provided a contact email if there are problems.

Knowing what shops are available in another location when you are traveling wouldn't do you any good, Isaiah. The shops with this MSC are assigned at the beginning of the month to shoppers who have gone through the training. Anyone who has not been trained cannot log into the website and would not be eligible for the shops.

Traveling or not, you will not see this MSC's shops, so it's a moot question. If you are signed up with the MSC, they will contact you if and when they get a client in your area and will offer you training. After you take the training, they will set you up with a password so you can log in. And they will begin to offer you shops the first day of the month. This company's shops are not advertised or posted. They are offered directly by email to shoppers who have gone through the training and provided payroll information.

edited to add: The "orphan" shops, which are shops that either area shoppers have declined, or shops that are in an area of no shoppers, are posted on the website, but, unless a shopper has been trained and has provided payroll information, the shopper is not able to log in, so the shopper will never see the orphans or anything else.

I picked up orphan shops on Monday holidays or weekends after my training. I got maybe nine of them since January.

I asked a scheduler and she confirmed it.

I did. My direct deposit came through just as always. Sad that it will be the last time. I do also shop for their other client so I will continue getting deposits on the 20th, just not for Chipotle.
I got my direct deposit as scheduled.

I got paid on the 20th as expected.

Hat's off to HB for starting a thread nearly a year ago that kept going even after the shopping program with the client ended!
