So freaking excited..love applebees..from the subtle hints given on the thread combined with a quick google search was able to sign up with one of the mscs that does these..I'm a new shopper so couldn't self assign..looks like my area has a ton available.yay.also for some reason the site wouldn't work when using google chrome but worked with internet explorer..might try the lemon chicken..for some reason ribs nauseate me even though I'm a carnivore.

The site works with my chrome. I was having problems getting my first job assigned since they went so fast and I could not self-assign. You can reach out to a scheduler and let them know that you are a new shopper and would really like to do this shop. I found them very responsive and I have completed a half dozen since then. The fee is not huge but the reimbursement is generous and the carside pickups are pretty easy. Good luck!
So, I need a change for my shop this evening. 2 for $20 - Which is better - Riblet basket, or should I upgrade $2.50 for the half-rack of baby back ribs.
I was so excited because rotation has previously been 60 days, but when I received the email for September shops, the rotation now says 90 days- bummer!
Oh WOW! I am glad you told us! I would have been in for a surprise next month.

Did my first Applebee's shop today - and my first Applebee's meal, ever. I thank whoever on here recommended the cedar grilled lime chicken - it is by far the best of the three things I ordered on the 2for $20 menu - and the only thing I would order again. Two out of three orders had a missing item: no celery with the chicken wings; no salsa with the fiesta chicken. I tried to substitute vegetables of some kind for the rice but was told it wasn't possible. Now I see I could have omitted the sauce and the tortilla strips, which were completely soggy, being placed under the chicken.
This location has almost all negative review on Yelp, mostly for service but some for food, so I guess I'm lucky that at least one dish was ok.
I always get the chips and the lime sauce on the side.. I love their festa lime chicken smiling smiley
I've gotten three of these shops over the last three months. The first two were incredibly bonused, but the last one stayed on the boards for three weeks at $8.00 and then finally moved to $20 when I snagged it because I was going to be in the same mall at the required time. If there is any rotation on this shop with this MSC I have yet to hear about it. I discovered the Spinach & Artichoke Chicken Penne the first shop and have ordered it every time. I also adore the Won Ton Tacos. This last time I tried the brisket tacos and they were excellent too.

I've done a handful of these now and absolutely love them..I'm partial to the boneless wings although I do wish they were a tiny bit spicier..also like the chicken penne..not a fan of the cedar lime chicken

DID ONE yesterday. i guess i'm NOT the only one who can't get their name quick enough. Rules now state you are not allowed to call back later.. meaning to reHEAR who the person was. I tape the call so i can go back now.

Makes sense but would be illegal in California and some other states, which require notification and agreement of both parties to tape a conversation...but maybe you do ask.
You can get a $50 Applebees gift card for $40 at CVS next week. Can you pay for this shop with a gift card? Makes it a bit more profitable if you can...

Gift cards are not allowed...
As far as the name when 1st calling since they are so noisy usually....I saw a great tip on this forum..not all mscs will allow it but if I'm not sure..I'll say something like sounded like Wendy but not sure due to the noise level..has worked thus far.....also I've noticed that alot of the time the name will match up with the person who brings the food out to the car...not always though

I'm sorry, am I missing something here? When I call and the phone is answered with "thankyourforcallingApplebeesthisisunintelligble" I say, "I'm sorry what did you say your name was?" and then explain that in the greeting comments (The phone was answered within 3 three rings but the greeting was rushed and I had to request the employee's name."
I did a to-go lunch there today. I got my usual Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad and subbed the Oriental dressing with Italian and Ranch, and the Cajun Chicken Pasta. Both were awesome.
I'm doing my second one next week and will be armed with a complicated order (omit, on the side, substitute) thanks to the suggestions here. I'm sure this is a dopey question, but here goes....is it possible to designate a pick-up time or does it have to be the time the restaurant says the food is ready? That is, if I don't want it in 20 minutes, I want it in an hour, can I ask that...this is a question both about restaurant policy and MSC policy. TIA.
@djd1950..I don't think this is allowed..have done a handful of these and they want you there at exactly the time they tell you it's ready. May'be they can make an exception..definitely reach out to the scheduler.

Yup, you should call the location from somewhere within a 15-minute drive of the location and not request a pickup time. Best to email your scheduler for a confirmation on that, but pretty sure dawnhu is correct.
Thanks...I understand that I should be there when it's ready...my question is whether Applebee's allows the customer to choose the pick-up time, the way a lot of restaurants do. I think it's pretty common practice, for instance, for a customer to be able to call a pizza place at 5 pm. and ask for three pizzas to be picked up at 8 pm.
I just wrote that I was pretty sure you should not request a pickup time but you should email your scheduler for a confirmation on that.
And it might be common practice for pizza restaurants to do that when you are a regular customer, but I know of two MSCs that forbid you to pick the time to pickup the pizza on shops.
