New Applebee's Shops

Eileen, I thought it was just me! I'm happy I don't have ordering requirements.

Earlier today I self-assigned a Curbside pick up for later in the month. When I first looked at the instructions, there were specific entrée requirements. When I went back an hour later, the specific entrees were no longer there. After thinking I was truly losing it, I called the MSC...yes, they changed the ordering instructions (to no specific entrees) in that hour interim time! Yay...no specifics and I'm not crazy!

I was able to grab one in my area.

To the people that have done this what is the purpose of calling the office the. First time?

Also since this is a new shop for me how many pages is the report? I would like to print out and take it with me but keep it out of sight
You call to verify that you understand the guidelines of the shop. It's like any other restaurant shop. The guidelines are only four pages long but it is VERY important to open the report itself and see what questions you need answers to. My first one took an obscene amount of time. But then I installed a call recorder on my phone so I can call and listen back to the call when I'm doing the report. I keep my phone's video recorder on and tucked into my phone holder so I can easily get the timings they want.
Did you get the shop or did you just apply? If you got the shop, you confirm it, download the guidelines, click to return to the job board and then click on View/Submit. Then you can print the shop questions and close it out without saving it.
Ah, the report is suckily long. I order the full reimbursement amount. I'm used to doing super quick shops with easy reports. This one, not so much. Now that I've done 4 or 5 it's pretty easy. I just tell the story according to their delineated questions. No emotion. Funny, for each shop I do the service and food has gotten a little exponentially worse. You have to hurry and take the pics and eat right away because the food isn't all that good after 15 minutes of sitting.
I received a gift card from a guy who needed a staycation at my rental for Chili's. That food was incredibly nasty; bland, cold, tough meat, soggy veges. Ah, the service was faf.
I was able to self assign the shop. I was not use to taking pictures of food till recently. When I go out to eat, I usually like to eat in the restaurant. Very seldom do I take out. However, I saw the shop and I wanted to give it a try. I like Aplebee's

Since this my 1st time how long will it take for me to do the report?
i've done a few, i would say 30 min for your first time, 20 minutes after that. Just a guestimate.
What call recording APP do you use? I looked at several of them and most have a subscription rate, or are paid for APPS, which I wouldn't mind if it was a good one, just looking for some advice.
What was wrong with the shop? Or was it the food? The last one I did, I got a burger. It was awful.

These are great. $20+ worth of food and to-go. Saves time and I'm able to treat whoever with extra food.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I love these shops, it takes less than 5 minutes on the phone, less than 5 minutes at the location and about 15 minutes for the report. I order the 2 for $22 (appetizer and two entrees) and I actually like Applebee's food, so I was doing them at base pay, then they increased the pay in my area to more than double the rate I was doing them for in December. That hardly ever happens.

Thanks I thought I was going nuts.
I also like the food. For both of my shops I got the steak, ribs and boneless chicken wings for the app. Used the 2 for $22 promo. With the sides, it’s a lot of food and I had no problem with the quality.
Applebee's was closed years ago in my town and many others throughout L.A. There are a few left, I'm not a fan, so many others with better food....in my humble opinion.

Live consciously....
Fairly decent, free food, brought out to my car with a simple report? I'm in.
There are not many close to me though. There are a couple near my work though.
I also like Applebee's. Everytime I take the wife, we usually get the 2 for 22. I'm looking forward to doing this shop
Great idea kenasch! I used the app to see what the total cost would be, including the drink. It will be $25 with the tip. I like that!

Last night we were looking over the web site and my we saw some items on the 2 for 20 that looked really good. Now I am getting hungrysmiling smiley
Yes, it's a better variety than was offered on the shop I did with the ordering requirements.

REALLY, Spicy? Did you even watch the video? Also, did you even see Applebee's corporate response?

Looks like the only one that jumped to a conclusion was you.

They had no indication that there was racial profiling. I wonder why these diners jumped to that conclusion? I live in a State where sometimes I can't tell the race of a person yet 5 Guys wants me to report that information. I feel like a real pos sometimes when I'm trying to figure it out and I stare at them.
Applebees fired them and, however, said they found no indication of racial profiling. I saw diners who the server thought looked like the dine and dashers from the day before. The video does not show this either. Appkebees needs to change their policy on when to call the police

Applebee's statement from 2/12/18:

"We recognize the hurt and pain caused by the recent incident at an Applebee's restaurant in Independence, MO. We very much regret this occurred and sincerely apologize to our guests and community. After an internal investigation and in line with our values, the franchise terminated the manager, server, and another employee involved in the incident. We do not tolerate racism, bigotry, or harassment of any nature, and we have taken additional steps to close the restaurant at this time in order for the team there to regroup, reflect, learn, and grow from this. We are reaching out to the guests involved to apologize directly. We know rebuilding trust with those affected by the incident will take time, and we look forward to finding resolution in the coming days."
Obviously, you don't know the very definition of racial profiling.
