$15.25 for a small burger, small fries, and drink. They raised the fries to $4.49. The increaded reimbursement still does not cover the cost.

It looks like the 8/12 shops are now updated with the higher reimbursement.

But Aug 26 shops in California are still showing $12.75.

I didn't say that the ones after that were fixed. I'd never take a shop that far out anyway, not for $9, so it doesn't really matter yet.

That said, I have been wondering whether the higher reimbursement will cause more people to take them at lower prices, in the end lowering the total cost of the program. It won't change it for me (unless they get taken before I get my usual $25), but I get the veggie sandwich by choice, not because of reimbursement limits.

Some of the shops in my area of San Diego are showing $14.20 for reimbursement. It used to cost $13.75 for a small burger, fries, and drink so it is probably more than $14.20 now.
I thought this was a good read. There is nothing shocking.

A question for fellow 5G shoppers. Do you think it matters if I always order the same, perhaps slightly unusual toppings on my burger? I don't know if the stores see in the report exactly what I ordered, but I worry that eventually the order might mark me as a shopper.

The only place the items are listed in on the receipt. I suppose that the store could look up your order info, assuming it is included in what they receive. I order a very specific veggie sandwich customization and have never seen any indication that they know who i am.

yeah, as one commenter said, the "shocking" piece in the title is just click-bait.
Just saw this post on the job board website. Apparently there is going to be a Five Guys Certification now?

Coming Soon! Five Guys Certification!
August 12, 2021
In order to maintain eligibility for future Five Guys assignments, you will need to take and pass the Five Guys certification test. For some shoppers this will be the first time you have taken the test, and for others this is a recertification.

There have been some changes, so be sure to review the test manual carefully. It will help you pass the test which we expect to release towards the end of August!

As always, thank you for your participation in our programs.
Milkshake shops for September are now showing $19.70 total reimbursement, $14.20 for food and $5.50 for milkshake. There are still shops in August showing the old reimbursement amounts of $12.75 and $17.75 on my job board.
Is it me or have the bonuses gotten better the last few weeks? I used to have to leave my native Long Island in my travels to get anything more than $25 max, but the last few weeks I've had MAOs approved for near $30 right here. Previously I've only ever gotten $30+ when traveling rural areas outside NY.

I haven't tried a high MAO but when I spoke to a scheduler on the phone a couple of weeks ago and told her I would not do a location for less than $30, she did not offer to put in my request. I didn't really care, since I had no real interest in doing the dinner shop, anyway. I noticed that this week's shops are already up to $12, which is very early for a non-holiday week. Some fool took this week's dinner shop at that location for regular price, maybe because it's a shake shop, so I'll see if the lunch shop sticks around for me to get this week.
Yeah i notice next weekend's round is heavily laced with shake shops. And as you said, already up to $12 which is rare for late Monday/early Tuesday. Could be a good week for bonuses if you can stand all that sticky-sweet sugar lol.
I am getting higher fees from the job board. The schedulers seem bound to low fees.

I hear that Honny because I have not answered any scheduler calls for at least 7 days, the low hanging fruit seems to be on the board in my area as well. Odd. Although I did get a Georgia call with a nice bonus offer, couldn't accept it though because the timing didn't work.

Do you know when you accepted the shop? All reimbursements for August should be at the new rate.
FYI, I am still seeing 8/26 shops at the $12.75 reimbursement. The others have all been changed. Also guessing that the decision was made not to increase reimbursement on delivery shops?
The new reimbursement was changed to $14.20. I had a hamburger, Little Fries, and Fountain Drink, for $17.02. It still went over the new reimbursement. Why don't they just raise the reimbursement to cover? Say $18 or $20? We cannot go over or order more anyway, cause we cannot order anything but burger, fries, and a drink. This way, we get reimbursed for however much the store charged us. Some that are in expensive areas, charge a lot more than cheaper locations.
I ordered the same and it came to $18.17. Plus I had to explain why my receipt was over $16. ARGH!

I dont understand why you have to explain. The receipts are itemized, right? Isnt that self-explanatory?

You don't have to order a burger; you can order another of their sandwiches. But, yes, in higher-COL areas, it's probably impossible to stay under or at reimbursement no matter what you order.

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I have a Samantha shop today for more than my usual. I checked the app. I'm getting the little cheeseburger for under reimbursement!

$14.25 now for reimbursement, still doesn't cover the costs in Northern California.
There is a box to check that you could not dine in and you have to fill in the slot with, Due to COVID no indoor dining.
Had an odd situation today. The scheduler called to offer me $25 for one of my usual locations. I accepted it for tomorrow, but a few hours later I realized that I had never received an email. I went to the browser window I had left open logged into their site and noticed I had that shop up, but of course my login had timed out, so I had to log in again. When I did, the shop was no longer available, but it was not assigned to me and future shops were still available. Then less than an hour later, I got an email assigning me the shop. Maybe someone took it and flaked? Very odd.

This is for a location where I'd been able to do my usual veggie sandwich, regular fries and large drink and stay under the old reimbursement, but it now appears that they have raised their prices so it's now $13.30.

BTW can someone explain why a veggie sandwich with cheese costs a few cents more than the grilled cheese, given that you can get the same veggies added to the grilled cheese and make them identical? Grilled cheese at this location is $4.99 while the grilled veggies with cheese is $5.03. Noticed this at the last location I did, too.

Yeah $25 is the highest MAO I've ever had accepted.
Yet, they currently have $25 shops with MAO which they aren't going to accept.

I got $26 for one recently. They always have a problem filling shops at this location, but have rejected my $27 offer in the past. So this time I did $26, and it got accepted. It's about a 45-minute r/t for me, and even though I can tie it in with another errand in that area (not a shop), it's not worth it for less than $25--but that extra $1 is nice!

I had a close call today. While I was getting my credit card out to pay, I realized I had not read the guidelines. I canceled the order and went to my car to read them. It was a curbside shop. The location didn't offer curbside!

Thankfully, I had some errands to run in the same strip mall.

I always recheck guidelines before going to do FG shops. Too bad about not being able to do the shop. Really stupid that they don't let you do a dine-in shop if curbside is not available. It's not like it's a delivery shop where they are measuring different things.
I'm glad I caught it before I paid for my meal.

I have wondered this as well. In my area the veggie sandwich with cheese can run as much as 50 cents higher. Makes no sense at all.
Here's a new one. There is a delivery shop with shake available near a friend's house who we may be visiting on Tuesday. When looking at their menu both on the FG site and Doordash, shakes are not listed. What do you do in a situation like that?
