The Five Guys I was in this week had no peanuts. The Coke machine had a sign on it saying that only employees could dispense drinks and encouraged customers to order drinks in bottles. I'm wondering what the new normal will be when this pandemic is over. Will there ever be self-serve items again?
Another place I like is the Golden Corral, which I was introduced to when I was down in North Carolina. I found how that one was finally opening about 30 miles from here. It was supposed to open in March. I wonder what buffets will be like in the future.

I was hoping Souplantation /Sweet Tomatoes would do a version of unlimited they serve you so they could stay in business. Or if you have ever been to The Counter where you get a slip of paper with a long list of offerings and a stub pencil and you check off what you want then they bring it from the kitchen, that would work for them as well. . But alas, they did not do either and the whole chain is gone.

Souplantation...Evidently they filed for bankruptcy. Does anyone know the process for applying for bankruptcy funds for unused gift cards? There are lots of those out there but I doubt the company keeps track of names and emails of people who purchased them.

I actually tweeted them when this whole virus thing was starting questioning why they still had the peanuts out for people to touch. They should pre-bag them and give them out on request.@eclark3 wrote:

Actually you're probably right --
"In internet slang, a troll is a person who starts flame wars or upsets people on the Internet by posting inflammatory and digressive,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses[2] and normalizing tangential discussion,[3] either for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.'

Sorry, just wishful thinking. Anybody else miss them?

Gift card = "unsecured debt" = fat chance in bankruptcy.
Unless you have far more gift card dollars outstanding than most, you'll probably spent a bunch of time filling out forms (or paying a lawyer / paralegal to fill out forms) and get little to nothing for it.
