So I noticed that for delivery shops, they limit food to $15 and also allow $15 for delivery. They've gotten rid of the shake purchase, which is disappointing, but they increased the food reimbursement from $12.75 which made sense since FG is now charging more than in-restaurant prices on Door Dash.

Since I have Dashpass, delivery is free for me and just a 5% fee. I assume their system will not allow me to use some of the $15 they allocate for delivery to pay for a shake? Also has anyone figured out if there is a maximum tip they will pay is? Can I do $5 and not worry about it being declined? I have plenty of overage in the delivery portion.

What's the highest make an offer that people have had accepted recently? I just put in for $25 for a location that I've received that amount in the past. They have numerous shops posted for this location for $18. Most are dine-in but they had one phone shop available that I would be willing to do.

Took me awhile (like 10 offers) but they finally accepted my $55 offer that I used to get prior to lock down. That's the highest location I have around me - it's about 20 minutes away

My goodness! I wish I could get even half that! They won't even accept $14 for most shops around here. There is one location that seems very difficult for them to schedule. It's the highest listing on the board, sitting at $18... It is 60 miles away from me. They rejected my offer of $35 I made about a week ago, but no one has claimed it yet.

I think the highest I've ever gotten for 5G was when I lived in Northern CA. This was a few years back...they were calling me for several shops a week, and they offered one for $30 in a city about 20 miles away. I'm in the midwest now and all the 5G in my metro area seem to disappear at $8-12, except for that lone one that sits at $18.
A 5 guys close to me was posted at $15.00 but said make an offer. I offered $20.00 which I thought was reasonable but it was declined. I would have done it for 18 but couldn't change it.
This is new to me. For how long does it take you out of rotation? Forever?

@sstsau wrote:

@MisterBill From what I remember, doing Delivery shops DOES take you out of rotation for that location, or at least it did before covid-19. I haven't done a delivery shop since the pandemic began, so I'm not sure if it has changed.
I learned from this forum that once you establish your 'make an offer bid' /accepted once. Don't take a fee lower that what you had offered before at that location. Say you offer/accepted $20. Then next time settled at $10. They will give you the hardest time trying to ever get it back again at $20.

Usually it's one cycle. I had a delivery at one location that wasn't doing delivery and two weeks later I was able to pick it up for a dine-in or to go...

Right, except that when they restarted the shops, they were not approving the amounts they had previously given. So I took a shop for $18 that I had been getting $25 for. I just submitted $25 for another shop that's currently at $18 and it hasn't been approved yet, but it hasn't been rejected either.

@MSF Like foodluvr said, I think rotation is generally 2-3 weeks for one cycle, at least in my area.
I put an offer in on a $15 shops for $22 and it was accepted. I'm doing it on Tuesday. It will be weird to have to get take out, but that's all they're doing here since indoor dining is banned and they haven't provided any space outside for dining.

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
Looks like someone else got the phone shop I asked for $25 on, since i don't see it anymore.

Update - just as well that I did not get it since I had applied to be a Census enumerator and just got assignments starting today.

From the current guildelines for 5 Guys shops:

The burger grill has three sections and a bread grill. Usually you will see the patties move from section one to section two to section three. The cook should even out the patties with the patty press, one time only. Crew members anticipate orders, so you might only see patties that are already in section three. That is OK.

@Jenny Cassada wrote:

There actually is a reason, it's their guidelines. The only time it's ok to put food on the grill that hasn't been ordered is when someone walks in the door and they put as many burgers on the grill as entered the building assuming that everyone is going to order at least one patty.
Also, cooked to order or made to order mean exactly just that, they are made or cooked when they were ordered. You know when you go into a place like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, etc that you likely are getting something that has been sitting under the lamp, and that's ok because they don't proclaim to make/cook to order.

@Lady Marius wrote:

There is no reason, when busy to wait for someone to order a patty to place it on the grill. They run the risk of cooking too many patties, but when busy this cuts down on wait time. I believe this exact situation is addressed in the guidelines. My burger was not sitting around under a heating lamp...it still came fresh off the grill, same with the fries. Anticipating orders and placing pattied on the grill before they are ordered, does not mean the burger was not cooked to order, it just means the customer waits less time for it to cook.

I have done 2 5Guys the past month. They are all on line now and no one ever calls me. Have those reps been furloughed? They have the set your own fee and I think if you go $.25 over their limit they won't negotiate or counter.

I got a call from the guy the other day. But he didn't offer me anything better than they were offering online. In fact, he offered me a $15 shop when there was an $18 shop available at the same location.

Decided to put in for $25 for an $18 online non-delivery shop at my local FG. Doubt they'll give it to me (even though they have several available there) but worth a shot since I've never done better than $20 for the delivery shop (which is also still available).

Also, the delivery shop for a location I did two+ weeks ago is showing up, but not the dine-in shops at the same location.

They declined my $25 offer. I'll sit tight, they'll raise them eventually since they have lots of shops there, plus the delivery sitting at $15.
Dont forget that if it sits forever after your declined offer, doesn't hurt to send in an email offer. I just got one of my that was declined a few weeks ago and finally accepted this week.
I did an online shop last month and a dine in today. Last month the shop was offered at $10, but today was $18, a few dollars more than I will usually do them for. Now that things are more normal for these shops $18 will be my new “not less than” price. The good news is that a little cheeseburger, little fries and regular drink is now less than the $12.75 reimbursement.
I'm in NYC, so I never see good fees on 5G. I was excited for a $15 delivery. It had been $5 a few days before, when I was looking for lunch. I haven't seen a "make an offer" option on the deliveries either, and when I offered $20 on an $18 dine in, it was declined.
Is there a tip/trick to getting a scheduler to CALL you, or does that only happen when they're especially desperate? I never tried "decline" shop button before, and when you decline you can give the reason "reimbursement too low", in the hopes that someone would call me, but all I get is automated emails with "special offer just for me" that is also lower than the previous "normal".

I'm fine with low pay on a delivery or pick up, but if I'm going to risk getting sick from a dine-in, there better be some 'hazard pay' premium. In Miami apparently people are willing to risk anything for an $8 or even $5 pay that used to be $12, even with death tolls at record highs.
Traveled on the 13th, had two heavily bonused 5G shops with "shopper's choice" hours, and a funny thing happened: The lunch location was maybe the best 5G I've ever been to (on short list at least), everything was done right, and the dinner one was a nightmare. Among other issues on dinner one, ALL FOUR crew members wearing masks improperly (covering mouth but nose exposed). Lots of other things wrong, surly crew, sloppy counters and floors, just awful. Just so strange to see the best of 5G and worst in one day.
Anyone else's area get another menu price increase this week?
When I first started I could get the small cheeseburger and still be under the threshold, then price went up and moved on to the plain burger, then on to hot dog. Now the hot dog comes in at over $13.50 for me
The veggie sandwhich is the only thing left for me now, if I want to stay under the reimbursement amount.
I don't even live in a huge metro area

Not sure what it used to be but I just checked a CT location and the hot dog is $6.29. At my NY location it's $4.49! Veggie Sandwich is $4.49 in CT vs. $3.99 in NY.
Made an offer of $20 for a dine-in shop that was listed at $18 and it was accepted. I think I had gotten $25 for this location in the past. Too bad they did not have a curbside or online available for the same price. I guess I'll play it by ear how much I eat there. It's a fairly large location so hopefully I'll be able to sit in an area by myself.

I noticed that FG now allows tipping. There was a prompt on the credit card terminal after I inserted my card, and there was a tip jar on the counter. I do not recall that previously.
@MisterBill, how was the dine-in shop? Did you have to inspect the restroom? Were others dining inside?
