Chipotle Shops

I went there on my own dime this week in addition to a shop. That's how much I love the food. I didn't get any upgrades.

I lucked out on my last shop. I ordered one taco and it was huge. I ordered the kids chips and the cashier forgot to charge me, so I ended up paying $2.57 and was full. The kids chips bag was filled to the top, too.
And I had the opposite. Finally got a one taco that was most likely the way they are supposed to make it...one taco size. All my jobs so far they have slapped on almost full servings of each ingredient to where the one taco became almost a full meal. It was difficult to tell whether they were ladling out the correct portions as it was less than a large spoon but how much less it should have been was not in the directions. Yesterday the server actually scooped the large spoon of guacamole then took a knife and sectioned off 1/3 of it and put that on my taco. I was very disappointed they actually did it correctly.
It's hit or miss with the tacos. When I got one taco, it was made correctly. When I got two tacos, it was a ROFL taco, but it was messy to eat. The single taco, I actually ate in the restaurant.

Zero for two for this month's KSA.

At one of my shops, a lady in front of me ordered a burrito. At the salsas and before the sour cream, she asked them to mix it up. They used two of the plastic cups to thoroughly mix. I thought this was a great idea.

Has anyone done this with bowls or burritos, either at Chipotle or California Tortilla?

I usually get 2 different salsas on a burrito. Once it gets wrapped up, everything is mixed together anyway. Why hold up the line for premixing? I would have given her the side eye. She is not a role model, Honny. Do not emulate her bad habits. smiling smiley

I agree, it sounds like a PITA for the crew members, who are already hustling as it is.
Ah, Chris, I didn't think about that! I mixed my bowl on Sunday to take up some of the time. I can do it that way.

Not entirely sure what you mean but I always get all the salsas and ask for the hottest one on the side..but it could be whichever is your favorite. They give me a nice sized cup of it and I use that to dip my chips.
I never thought to get salsa (or anything else for that matter) on the side until the take-out scenario. I got the salsa on the side and used it for the chips, too.
Seriously eye? WOW! I guess they didn't want the competition. My KQ has been 0/2.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that we got paid for July a week early!

The 20th was a Sunday. I expected to be paid on Monday, but was paid on Friday. That was a nice surprise.
Honny, what do mean 0/2? Did you not get an answer at all? Twice I got the same 3 word answer. They are sparing with words.
Chris, the first crew member pointed to a flyer, and the second one, different day, didn't know the answer. Yesterday, the crew member answered correctly!

I've also had answers to the knowledge question range from really enthusiastic and detailed to the vague shrug I got today. I'm a bit surprised that this late in the month the managers aren't aware of what the question is from the reports that have already come back to their colleagues at other shops.
My last shop, the crew member had her stuff together. I was impressed. Does anyone know the conditions of using the BOGO coupon?

What do you mean? You buy one entree, you get the second one free.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.
I was wondering if I had to get two barbacoa bowls, or if I can get a chicken bowl and a chorizo salad.

Any two entrees... One will be free if you use the coupon.

I went there for a shop last week and the CM at the tortilla warmer discovered they were out of crispy tacos. She just stared at me blankly after saying that (probably hoping I would order something else), and after a few seconds she said, "We can fry some more, though." I said okay, and she told the manager, who went into the kitchen and told the kitchen crew member. He returned to the front and then she called out to him that the vat was turned off, so he was scrambling in the kitchen finding the thermometer and the tortilla frying stuff, then back up front to change out pans because he was the linebacker, then back to check the oil temp, etc. The CM at the tortilla warmer was clueless as to what was going on. A long line formed and they only had 2 crew members on the front line preparing orders, and some customers were ordering large take out orders plus they were preparing fax orders on the front line so the line moved slowly...and it ended up taking 19 minutes for the crispy tacos to cook. Then, the crew member at salsa 1 didn't drain the salsa, the sour cream looked like milk it was so thin, and the lettuce was wet so I had a soupy mess. And the crispy tacos didn't taste like they were fully cooked and were falling apart when I tried to pick them up to eat them. Oh, and the cashier charged me for 3 tacos and not 2 because no one told her and she couldn't see under the lettuce how many were there...and they had run out of kid chips, too. But the manager should have told her to comp my meal anyway, in my opinion. Sigh. And that happened at one my favorite locations.

That's common.
JAS, I can only imagine what your report was like! I only have situations like that when I'm not shopping.

I wish there was some consistency with the editors. Some tell me that linebackers must wear gloves, others tell me they don't. Some tell me that I shouldn't mention piercings and tattoos, while another tells me I should. Frustrating to say the least.

There is a question on the form that says "Was everyone working with food wearing gloves, apron and hat? "

Was the Linebacker working with food? Sometimes the Linebacker is the one who comes into the dining room and does other things in between being a Linebacker. If you see him walking around in the dining room, visiting with customers, checking the beverage station, and not wearing gloves, fine. No need to have gloves on then. If you see him working behind the counter as Linebacker and he is handling food, he should be wearing gloves. This question gives you an opportunity to spell out who was wearing gloves and who was not, so if you are not sure, use the text box and explain. I always mention tattoos and piercings because sometimes those things, and their jewelry, are the only differences between the generic descriptions at some locations. So far, none of the editors has told me not to mention those things.

I was very clear that the linebacker I saw was working with food without gloves and the feedback that I received was "Just a note: The linebacker is actually not required to wear gloves, according to Chipotle guidelines. "

That would be really frustrating. Hard to believe someone carrying pans out of the kitchen and putting them on the line would not be wearing gloves.
I had a similar issue. A linebacker was handling food but not wearing gloves. He brought pans to the line sans gloves. That was irrelevant to the report.
