I miss them too...the money.

Too funny! grinning smiley

I checked the calendar, thinking I was this year's Rip Van Winkle and it was really April 1.

Yes. I miss pre-COVID life greatly.

Five Guys and Texas Roadhouse. The two greatest mystery shops ever (imho)!
To make lemonade out of lemons, I always said that my favorite fast food meal would be a Five Guys burger and McDonald's french fries. I would always eat inside, but now that eating inside is not allowed, the other day I got my burger at Five Guys and then drove down the street to the drive-thru at McDonald's for my fries and a drink, Then I ate in my car in the parking lot.
I really thinking end of month country will be fully reopen. As for this thread I unfortunately am not with the MSC who has 5 guys got kicked out. That's the only shop from them I am missing. I miss just eating In-N-Out period but always get it when traveling out west. I do Five guys on my own dime occasionally. I actually like their fries. McDonalds has good fries too. I honestly try to avoid fries. I have often gotten fast food drive thru and ate in the parking lot during this Covid-19 time. I was a big casual eat out in the dine in portion of the restaurants pre covid-19. I miss and hope to go back soon and hopefully sports resume soon.

I am really going to miss scoop your own salad bars! 5 guys will be back eventually and they may figure out how to serve the peanuts which are at least in shells but salad bars..nope not for a really long time if ever..
The Five Guys I was in this week had no peanuts. The Coke machine had a sign on it saying that only employees could dispense drinks and encouraged customers to order drinks in bottles. I'm wondering what the new normal will be when this pandemic is over. Will there ever be self-serve items again?
Another place I like is the Golden Corral, which I was introduced to when I was down in North Carolina. I found how that one was finally opening about 30 miles from here. It was supposed to open in March. I wonder what buffets will be like in the future.

I actually tweeted them when this whole virus thing was starting questioning why they still had the peanuts out for people to touch. They should pre-bag them and give them out on request.

Slightly related -- if you do a delivery shop, are they supposed to include a bag of peanuts or is that something my Doordash driver did the one time I got them? Of course, after posting this I realize that this was a "funny" post that I fell for.

Sadly the 5G shops are not back yet in NY/NJ/CT. I did see some Sonic shops but there are none of them near me.

I think the fee went down by a dollar but I took one anyway- it's not for another couple of weeks.

FG is genuinely good food!

I loved their shops. $5 is disappointing, but I'm really surprised they have shops back.

They might be one of a handful of shops I'd take at base if convenient. Panda was another. Both had reasonable reports + yummy food!

I rarely do Five Guys because there isn't one close to me, but I miss the Panda shops.

A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.
The location near me is not showing up, so I'm guessing that the fool who took the nearby Big Lots shop without a fee also grabbed at least one of them. The other two in my area are showing up.
For those who have taken a shop are you still required to sit for 10 minutes after you get the food? Depending on how crowded the restaurants are that might be a deal breaker for me if COVID cases rise again in my state.

I wish they would let you know in advance which shops are the order ahead variety. With those you can pick up the food and leave. As you're saying, in today's climate they would be preferable to many.

And I think it's 15 minutes after you get your meal.

So happy they are back and still have a fee! So disappointed most of the other food shops from this MSC do not have fees...
My comment on buffets. It looks like the trend although many will go out of business as they were dying pre covid-19 is that the ones will go to either cafeteria style with workers serving you or a all you can eat but you order from a menu as much as you want as many times as you want. Wynn which was the first to open their Buffet in Vegas went to a menu ayce.

I just went to Five Guys on my own dime a few days ago. Mask required when not seated at table, with 50% dinning from what they had Pre Covid-19. There were still plenty of tables empty when I went but alas no self serve peanuts. May be available if you ask in bags. I did not ask. I personally have no problem with dinning in but to each their own. I would say look at the shop and see if dinning in is required.

I see them in my area also. Seems like all the available shops are "all day" timing, rather than specifically lunch or dinner like they usually were before covid-19. The job description "blurb" says: "The purpose of this shop is to evaluate customer service, food quality, and overall cleanliness of the establishment." I think that is what the MSC used to write for the general dine-in shops...the call-ahead or online shops usually stated that in the job blurb from what I remember.

I'd also be interested to hear from those who have accepted these new jobs if the requirements have changed?
The shops are showing in my area - $5 fee - even lower than pre-quarantine. I can't read the guidelines to figure out if anything has changed.
The one I states that if the dining room is closed, make it a take out shop. The one near me has outside seating as well as a dining room.
No meal period, just the all day time period mentioned above. I don’t see anything different. They do still warn about peanut allergies as there are uncovered peanuts. However I don’t think any oft he locations will have the self serve peanuts anymore.
No 5G in my neck of the woods. The hedgehog shops have a higher reimbursement on them but no breakfast shops, Gas stations are back and a discount chain shop. Oh, and the Chicken Shops are at $0.00 with $8 reimbursement.

Some shoppers were getting $25+ fees before the quarantine. I wonder how difficult it will be for someone accepting the $5 to command the higher fees in the future.
