FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

A scheduler called me last week for a new to me shop on Sunday. I got the fee that I wanted with no haggle. I was happy to see that it had a milkshake.

I never received my shake. I didn't realize it until I was home and writing the report.

Wow, I just got called on a Wednesday by a scheduler and offered $25 for a shop for this coming weekend. It was actually a shop that I wanted, which was great, since now I don't have to wait for MAO. Sadly, I thought it was the shake shop, but I was mistaken. Asked about a second location (which actually does have a shake) and she claimed it was not available, but it's still on the site. Presumably they will call me at some point.

Update -- did a $25 MAO for the shake shop and got approved.

I got two shops from a scheduler for Sunday and Monday, lunch. This was confirmed on the phone as I had plans for Saturday. I look at the CPIs for both shops today and the dates are not what I requested. Instead of tomorrow and Monday, they were today and tomorrow.

The scheduler made them convenient for her and is guessing you will cooperate.
Not fair.

Either that or she didn't have her days correct. I was abe to reschedule on the app.

I assume that you know that shakes are usually delivered in a different part of the store and the number is called separately. In many stores, the shake is made by the cashier and is the first thing ready. I personally order it as a separate order just before I am ready to leave the store. I scan both receipts together, but use the information from the meal receipt.

My number wasn't called. That's why I forgot about the shake.

I cancelled my shop for tomorrow. It was a curbside shop and the location doesn't offer curbside.

It's possibly I'm expecting too much, but it seems to me the client should be informing the MSC which locations offer certain services. It's probably tricky due to franchising, but HonnyBrown just spent their time scheduling a shop (and possibly NOT scheduling other shops for that same date/time), only to find out the location doesn't offer that service. Why should HonnyBrown, or any of us, have to expend the effort to find that out for no pay?
Exactly, that is cold calling and we are doing it ( or not) for free!

I was burned on that before. I went to the location after doing other errands in the area. They didn't offer curbside. $3 for me.

This time, I checked the day before. When I canceled the shop, I provided "no curbside" as my reason. I was able to get a dine in shop to replace it.

It would be nice if the schedulers knew which locations offered what services.

They should have regional project managers for Five Guys at the MSC who would input the information into their database so that shop types not offered at a location would not be put on the board. No one person could possibly do this, but surely the MSC must have regional or district project managers?

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I've had the same issue above twice (slightly different scenarios each time). I sent in a MAO for a curbside pickup shop while driving to vacation. It was accepted, and I stopped at a rest stop 30 minutes out to place my curbside order...only to find that they didn't offer curbside for that time/location sad smiley
Ended up doing a end-of-week bonus'd JIB instead.

I was called for one over Labor Day weekend. Online shop for evening. I agreed and was assigned to it. Come to find out, that store closes at 430pm on the day I had chosen. Not sure if it was because of the holiday or its just their corona hours. Another disappointment.

Let's put the blame where it likely belongs, with the person at FG who provides the info to the MSC on which shops to do at each location. That said, when shops are submitted as closed because they don't do curbside, someone at the MSC needs to use this information to avoid scheduling future curbside shops at that location. So repeat mistakes are the MSC's fault.

I would certainly never expect the scheduler to know anything beyond what was in the available shops list.

I wouldn't expect a regional or district MSC project manager to "know" the information without input from the client--so there should be a two-way communication street there. The MSC should ask that the client provide up-to-date location information, and the client should supply it.

Schedulers should not be expected to "automatically" know these things, but they should be given current information by their managers.

Anyone ever receive this type of Five Guys email before and/or know what it means? Thank you so much!

We need to let you know that the above assignment had to be cancelled; we have removed it from your list and ask that you do not do this assignment. This cancellation was caused by internal, operational necessity and will not be counted against your record.

If you had already completed this assignment prior to the date stamp on this email, please email the Help Desk so we may tell you how to proceed.

I remember a few years back one of the MSCs shops had a question that asked if the address was correct for the client and if not to give them the correct address. I think they also asked what was next to the location. I could be wrong.

I remember correcting several location address repeatedly in my reports without the MSC or client correcting it.

I have done 2 stores for curbside and neither offered it. I did a screenshot of the app showing delivery or pickup and put that as my receipt. Both got approved I got paid for both. I did one once that was a phone in. I called 3 times and no answer. I knew they were open because i was in their parking lot. I did a screenshot of my phone log and put it as my receipt and got paid.

Did you get paid the full shop amount or for a closed location shop, I think $3?

I believe for the Texas Roadhouse curbside, you are instructed to go in side to pickup your order if they don't have curbside spaces marked.

I got paid closed. But i didn't want to cancel and have that ding against me. Guidelines said not to go inside if I couldn't order on the phone.

I have 2 Texas Roadhouse that i do xurbside for and neither have curbside so I go inside to pickup.
Has anyone ever received a email of this type regarding Five Guys? If so, does anyone know what it means? Thank you!

Just noticed they added curbside shops to the two locations I normally shop.

I went to the website to see if they offer curbside as an option. Apparently they recently started to from what I could see on the Google search results

However, when I tried to order online, it only gave me delivery and pickup. I'm not sure if by pickup they mean curbside. Anyone know?

If they are different, I might be able to get two closed shop fee like pegleg2000 did.
Happens with all companies on occasion

@wrosie

When my state opened up for to go food only Five Guys offered curbside. They had a couple of spaces designated and offered it on the app. Now it is not offered on the app. The last time I did it the paperwork said not to go inside if they did not offer curbside
Good news: the reimbursement in my area was increased to $14.20.
Bad news: a little cheeseburger, small fries, and drink costs over $16!

I genuinely like Five Guys but would never go if not doing a shop. I just can't justify nearly $20 for a fast food burger meal.
They have a location in my area that they have not been able to fill for the current week's lunch. The US scheduler called me yesterday and I said no. She called back today and I told her that it would take a ridiculous amount of money for me to go. She asked how much and I told her $50. She thanked me and said goodbye. I just got a call from the overseas scheduler for the same location. I asked how much. She said $6. I told her that was ridiculous given that it was at least $25 on their site and hung up on her. She called back and after planning to send it to voicemail, I decided to pick up, and she said we must have been disconnected smiling smiley. I told her I would only do it for $50. She said that she would make a note of it. I don't expect to hear back, but I guess I'll find out how badly they need to have it done.

A location I want to do has been on hold by another shopper. I checked it an hour ago and it was available for the fee I want. I snagged it.

This one is still available at $25. Just for fun, I put in a MAO for $50. Have you ever gotten that much for a FG shop?

Odd thing is, this location isn't usually that hard to fill, another one in the area is. You'd think they could break rotation and call one of their other shoppers and get them to do it. But that would require some amount of smarts.

They also have this past week's late night shops available for this and the other nearby location. So basically they haven't done either of last week's shops yet.

$25 is my happy place. I got $27 for one location and was ecstatic. That came from the job board. I made an offer for $30 once and was ignored. I never tried again.

I've gotten 30 a couple of times for one location that nobody wants to do but I'm typically somewhere between 17 and 25.

My $50 offer was rejected. It's a 35-minute drive each way for me and I would be going only for the shop, and have other stuff to do elsewhere, so not worth doing for less.

I'm also usually happy to get $25.
