FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

They try to, but not always. Plus, when I did MAO for this location at my regular fee, it was never accepted.

Schedulers called yesterday and I got 3 shops at my pre- COVID fee. Maybe we are going back to normal?

My MAO was accepted today a few minutes after I applied. I made it $1 less than my normal fee.
That was very generous of you smiling smiley. I feel like if I take a lower price one time, they will hold it against me the next time.

The February delivery shops at the two restaurants in my area are still available, stuck at $8. I emailed the helpdesk account last night asking if they could give me my usual $20 and haven't heard anything. Last month it got to $15 and when I called asking for more the person I spoke to said that she couldn't even see the shop on her end, so I ended up taking it for that price.

Meanwhile, last month's delivery shop for the other one (which is too far to deliver to me, unfortunately) is still on the board for $15, and next month's shops are now posted.

Update -- they never got back to me and someone apparently took the delivery shop for $8 since it's no longer there and the other shop is still at that price.

And the scheduling nonsense continues. This week's shops are $15 with MAO. Asked for my usual $25 and was denied, so I called. The rep checked with the supervisor and said the best they could do was $18. I told her I would wait. They have both the lunch and dinner shops available at this location, and I'm sure they will have to raise the price again. I can wait.

I do want the lunch shop this week since it comes with the shake. But not worth taking less than the usual amount considering I could just buy the shake with the extra money on a non-shake shop. Oh, and this is the same location that still has last month and this month's delivery shops available.

Anyone ever get kicked off the list for this client?

I think I did, but I don't feel like going thru the hassel to see why I can no longer pick these up. It's been about 2 months since they've been on my board. Last year I did 50+ assignments.

I've never failed a shop, but wondering if maybe a store ID'd me...if that's even a thing?

If anyone else has been in my situation, is it a 'life' ban or is there a usual time frame that passes and I'll be back in the pool?

It's likely that you've been identified. It's very easy since the restaurants have video that captures every corner of the restaurants. And, of course, the reports require all of the information that identifies you. Many of the restaurants keep images of mystery shoppers posted in the back areas once they've identified who they are.

It could also be that your reports were too similar in that you found too many or too few faults. Or patterns were identified in the reports. The client could also have asked to have you removed from the rotation, a new shopper, or both.

It's unlikely the MSC will tell you what's changed or why. If you push for an answer, it's likely they will end your contract with no notice.

If you claim expenses on your shop (parking and tolls), you may be challenged or terminated if the MSC has other shoppers who do not claim those expenses for the same shop.

If you constantly hold out for the highest shop fee, that, too can be a reason for your experience.

This MSC sets your maximum fee at the lowest fee you've ever accepted a particular shop. It is difficult to ask for more once that ceiling is established. So if you are frequently asking for more than your personal ceiling, that could be a reason for your situation.

Also, you say you've never "failed" a shop, but have any of your shops been questioned or required revision or otherwise not been immediately approved? If so, that's a sure way to be "excused" from a particular set of shops.

How many unique locations was that 50+ divided by? We have 10 locations within a 30 mile radius in my area and I tried to only do 1 shop per location per month to avoid detection.

I also never did late night no matter how huge the bonus (as I've found the few times I've done them that I was the only customer...making me possibly easily memorable).

In the event something unusual/memorable happened and/or was reported, I've even stayed away from that location for three months before.
Id say I hit about 6 locations regularly. Just surprised after 4 years of doing these regularly, that now they decide to drop me off. Never had a report returned for revision. It is what it is, just gonna miss my two locations that I could usually get monthly at +$50 in the make an offer phase.

Thanks for the info, figured it was no use reaching out to the MSC since it wouldn't really get me anywhere.
Update -- got a call from the guy (I forget his name) today asking me to do the same location I called about yesterday and had been refused my usual $25. He was offering $18 but said that he would submit my $25 request for the lunch shop. It was approved.
Just took a lunch shop with shake at a second location and I noticed that they charge $4.99 plus tax for a shake! My usual location is $4.19. That means that the additional $5 they add for the shake will not cover the required purchase! I was already used to not being able to get a regular fries with the reimbursement amount at this location but managed to stay within the reimbursement if I got a veggie sandwich.

I assume that they won't pay me the combined reimbursement if I go over on one part and under on the other.
