And MAO
Which in my high-population area is like tits on a bull, useless. I just got turned down for another $26 request on a $25 shop.

I guess they just apply the MAO button to all shops without regard to region and accept or deny based on region. I say so because I traveled to a much more rural state recently and got all my MAOs approved while there (other clients too besides 5G). Here at home, I get shot down every time.

Spoke too soon, got a MAO approved for tomorrow at a FG about 8 miles away. Will wonders never cease.

Good for you. I didn't bother calling to try to get the $30 again, and I observe Passover (which starts tomorrow night) so I won't be available to do this (or any) location for another week+. So they have two dinner shops still sitting unfilled (last week's and this week's) for a location that always seems to be one of the most difficult for them to fill.

I did realize that I should have taken it for $25 that first day since Boston Market was near that location, and they had $5 individual meals that day, but by the time I remembered, it was too late to go.

My veggie sandwich, no cheese, bacon or burger, was $12.16. When I shopped this location last month, it was $10.99.

Well, it finally happened: Today I had a veggie (no cheese) plus small fries and drink exceed reimbursement.

Although I'm not religious enough to stop shopping for all of Passover, I don't eat bread, so all my shops today were a veggie bowl. If anyone thinks such an order outs you as a shopper, take note that it did not come with an upsell, a visible manager, or a clean dining room.
This week's shops are pick your time and are up to $12. I'm guessing FG is closed on Easter since the shops are only showing through Saturday.

And that stinketh, because the MSC is the only one I know that reimburses for bridge tolls, which affects me because ...

I live on Long Island (near Queens NYC border) and if I want to do shops in the Bronx or points north, I rely on 5G's MSC because they reimburse for bridge tolls (and trust me, New York City bridge tolls are a mutha, even if you have EZ-Pass which I do). If I'm shopping north of the East River, I try to grab a 5G as part of the day's "outing" to get the toll reimbursement.

With another MSC there's a hardware shop that's sweetly bonused that no one seems to be grabbing and if I bundle it with a 5G and a few other shops up in Bronx/Westchester it might be a nice Sunday. But without the 5G, not worth it I think. $12.24 in 2-way tolls if not reimbursed. sad smiley

Actually, I may be wrong. I don't see any evidence online of them being closed on Easter. But clearly the MSC wants to get them done by Saturday.

That is a great idea doing a shop to get reimbursed the tolls. I actually live in Westchester, and go to Nassau occasionally since my daughter lives there. I should pick up the location in New Hyde Park or Hicksville the next time I go there to get paid for the toll!
Please note that the MSC sometimes disallow bridge tolls when the timestamps on the receipts are too early. I don't recall exactly but I think the MSC disallowed one of my toll requests because I crossed the bridge more than 2 hours before my shop.

ah thanks that will probably nuke my "going up" toll. I should be OK on "going back" toll as it was literally 10 minutes later.

But I thought you implied that you'd already done this and been reimbursed? And how do you get a receipt for an EZ-Pass transaction quickly enough to submit?

My previous times there was a fairly quick turnaround on up-down. The one I just did was the first where there was a significant "lag time" before up-down times.

Ez Pass is a hit and miss in terms of time-to-post on the online transaction log. Sometimes its within a day, sometimes over a week (missing the reimbursement window!)...

There isn't a guideline to toll reimbursements anywhere on the MSC website, so you have to test it out yourself. I have experienced denials for what I presume are "too far," "too long from shop time," "unreasonable travel distance" reasons. They don't tell you the reason.

My rule of thumb is to snag shops close to the point of toll and only submit a single direction.

MSC also says that if you do a location that typically does not require a toll (someone local in the area) they might not approve the toll, or disallow you doing that location in the future.

It's all a mystery!

sidenote - I'm quite familiar with the NYC/NJ area, so going from Fort Lee > Manhattan > Queens via GWB > Triborough is quiteeee the expense! Someone needs to try this and report back winking smiley

For your usual amounts?

I am hoping to get one for Monday once they move the date out past Saturday. Not eating there now due to Passover.

I've noticed that they are not going higher than $10 for the delivery shops recently and not going to MAO. And someone took the one that delivers to me for April.

MrBill, just out of curiosity, do you not work on Passover at all, or is it the bread that's keeping you away?

No dining shops (or eating at restaurants on my own dime).

But do you eat at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas? That’s almost a family tradition for me.

Of course! Although the one we've been going to recently closed, so I'll have to find another one.
Little Burger, small Fry, and a drink come to just over $15 in my neck of the woods. I will not do a hot dog, grilled cheese, or a veggie sandwich. But I do wonder if you can get them to slice a hotdog in half lengthwise and then slice that in half crosswise and put it on a hamburger bun.
They finally extended this week's shops out to Monday. However, Sunday is not a valid shopping day. Put in for $25 for a local shop and got it.

The delivery shop in my area just showed up again, so maybe I'll try to do that one on Monday and get dinner for my wife while using the lunch sandwich for myself or at least most of it).

I almost always get the veggie these days, and take a small bite.

Works perfect, because when I go home, that’s when I grill some real angus beef, a salmon burger, etc. and just add to that. Absolutely delicious when you have the veggie sandwich loaded plus jalapenos!

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 31 year old male and willing to travel!
So annoying how so many, nevermind- most, of these companies don't offer a decent reimbursement on top of little pay.... Not to mention the restaurant ones that require a bar drink, tip, and tax which always goes over the reimbursement. It's enough to make me not do those but so many people still do, so they will just keep lowering the reimbusements.
Just keep good records and write it all off at tax time. After figuring everything out for the Tax Man the business only owes $227 in all of the taxes that are due for last year.

Yes, definitely jalapeños! Grilled jalapeños are even better, and I've been having them leave off regular green peppers recently. And add hot sauce, and pickles, but on the side because they don't reheat well. Plus you get a few extra to munch on the side.

Try $1 less than $1 more. My MAOs were instantly approved.

We can now submit more than one request if the first MAO offer is declined. My recent offers have been quickly approved, so I haven’t yet been able to play with that new feature.

???? Don't follow. $1 less than $1 more is the board price. Why even MAO at that point, just take the shop or not.
