Yes, you really have to be careful about them lowballing you on the phone. It's a shame that they do it, it's totally unprofessional to offer you less than the current shop price.

Yes and as I've mentioned before, I don't remember them pulling this before Covid. This is a post-reopening tactic and it has turned me into a call-screener with them. Some of the schedulers will mention the specific location and I'll check the board for the price there, then call them back.

That sounds rather suspect since they know what shops are currently available and should be able to see the fee. I know that when they've called me for a dinner and I say I want the lunch, or a different location, they are able to look up the shops to see what is available.

Of course, it could also be a case of "never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence/stupidity".
