FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

Am I the only one who gets upset when I see that someone has taken a shop when the payment is only at $12 (or worse, $9)? Next week's lunch shop at a location where I always get $25 is already taken, and I'm just back in rotation and would have taken it (for my price, of course). Someone also took my local delivery shop already, but that's my own fault because I did not take it as soon as the price went up to $10.

I get disappointed when people accept shops that I wanted, especially if they take it for a low rate. But I wouldn't say I get upset. The way I look at it, we're all just trying to do what we have to do, and for some folks that's going to mean getting free food where they can.

Fine, disappointed. Bottom line is that whoever is taking these shops for the hard-to-schedule shops for low payment is doing themselves a disservice. At least wait until they get to $18.
Wrosie, I don't know about that, but there are a boatload of mattresses left begging in my area. I do one here and there when i have nothing else or to make a route more profitable. Sometimes I have to submit a few offers before one is accepted, but I usually don't take the offer on the site unless it is very local.

BTW, I emailed the Help Desk to ask how many are allowed per day, and they told me no more than 3 per day.

I haven't seen the exclamation point shop in awhile, but it's too cheap anyways.

Apologies, I wasn't intending to nitpick your word choice. I was just trying to express that I assume anyone taking a shop for lower pay than I would has a good reason for it.

Even before Covid, due to all the extreme weather events in my part of the country, food pantries around here were desperate for donations because so many people had to choose between paying rent/mortgage and buying groceries. So I never underestimate the importance of free food! There was a period during the last five years when the free food was really important to me (divorce plus medical put me $30K in debt in the span of six months). Thankfully, that situation has eased and I'm able to hold out for better assignments now.

Agreed. I wait until the end of the month and do two local 5G for $50 each (North NJ area). Easy $$.
I had an interesting conversation with a US-based scheduler the other day. I am traveling tomorrow, and wanted to do three mattress shops along the way. All had been on the board for a very long time at $25. The scheduler told me that the first one was too close to my house for any additional money, but she was able to give me $30 for the other two.

There's a mattress shop on the board for $25 with a MAO logo, so I submitted $35.00. Doubt I'll get it, but with gas prices the way they are now, you never know! I can't just go do a shop in a location where I have nothing else going on now, unless the price is worth it.

ETA: Nope, I didn't get it....still on the board this morning (3/9) for $25.00.

Yeah, this one's in my neck of the woods, but it's been on the boards for so long, I thought they might want to accept an offer to get it done. I'll just keep watching it.

I haven't had a lot of interest in doing the mattress shop near me, but I looked earlier and noticed that there are three shops available at the same location. They also changed the format of how they show the time, and it now shows the lengthy time requirements instead of 12:00-12:00 for the mattress shops and the last 30-minutes FG shops like it used to. As a result, the jobs list is now much longer and uglier than it used to be.

Got a call from a US scheduler before asking me to do my local FG for $18. Told her that I'd do it for $25, and she told me that she could not do better than $18, so I told her to call me back when she can do $25. Also told her that if I took $18, I'd never get $25 again, and she could not disagree with that logic.

Just noticed that the shop is currently posted for $12, so at least she was offering mre than the website price.

Also just noticed that someone already took next week's lunch for that location. Ugh. Hopefully I will be able to get $25 for this week's, since it's an online shop.

Update - shops are now up to $18 with MAO. Asked for $25 via MAO and got it for the online lunch shop.
The MAO inconsistency continues. Got turned down for $25 on a shop that I'd gotten that price for previously after getting it for a different location when I submitted it on Friday. It's almost like different people looking at the offers apply different rules to them.

Final chapter from this week's saga (which I wasn't going to post since I figured that people were tired of hearing from me, but three of you liked my last post). I got a Samantha email last night offering $23 for the shop, so I responded that I would take it for that price. Then at 9:30 this morning I got a call from a US scheduler asking me to do a different location. I told her that I didn't want that one, but I wanted the other shop and had an offer rejected, and that I had responded to an email but had not heard back yet. She asked what I wanted, I told her $25, and she said that she would submit it. I got the assignment email a few minutes later.

I normally would not do a dinner location at this particular location, but since it's an online order it allows me to just pick it up around 4:15pm and take it home, which makes it much more attractive.
Congrats Mr. Bill!

I still cannot figure out which method offers the highest fee. I have been getting $18 from the job board and schedulers consistently for locations I used to do for $20 - 25. All but one of my MAOs have been disappointing. Samantha came through with a good fee once.

The lunch shops near me are disappearing quickly.

It's not instant. They should change the Sam works so you can immediately accept it online at that price.

That's unfortunate. My best experience getting $25 is when a scheduler calls me over the weekend or later, at which point I ask for it and usually get it. The problem with taking $18 for a shop is that you won't be able to get $25 the next time. I'd rather wait them out a week or two and get the $25 than take a permanent price cut.

My experience with MAO has been inconsistent. Sometimes I get my $25, other times I do not. It seems like they are not going above $18 on the website except for the late night shops, and sometimes not even for those. I noticed one location in CT had six shops available, clearly some were from previous weeks, and they were all priced at $18.

Samantha can offer decent prices on remaining shops on Sunday or Monday, but not $25 unless it's far away since the prices seem to be based on distance.

I accepted a Samantha offer of $21 for a location that is on the board for $18. Maybe the fees are going up now?

Wth they won't budge with me. I submitted two MAO. I delete all of Samantha emails. Ion why they won't just give me $25 for a location that's passed due. I've even asked for $20 but no go
I don't think they know what they are doing. I offered $28 on a "Make An Offer", because that is what I always get for that particular location. No surprise. They rejected it. That is why I usually wait for a phone call for the out of town locations. Two hours later a scheduler calls and offers me that exact fee. WTF. I asked for more, as they once again wasted my time. I got $35. It was on the board for $18. I would have done it for $28. Their loss again, and my gain again.

Agreed, not to mention that they could have had it scheduled sooner and not had to call you. And you probably knew how it was going to turn out (well, maybe not that you'd get $35, but that you'd get your price, same as me with my $25 shop). It's almost like we know how things work better than the company does.

Have you ever gotten a higher price for those shops? And have the schedulers called you?
I was over reimbursement for a veggie bowl, little fries and a regular drink. This is the second location where this has happened.

Explain? Did they give you more than you spent? I have to admit, I never check the pay report to make sure I got the correct amount, since it doesn't show up until you've been paid.
Mr. Bill, our reimbursement is $14.20. My meal today was $14.38.

Sorry, misread it as over-reimbursed smiling smiley.
Not good, HonnyBrown! There's no way to stay within reimbursement since no entree is less expensive than a veggie bowl - at least not in my area.
I can’t seem to get more than $20

There’s one location with about 5 overdue shops that isn’t close to any cities and they still won’t budge!
That's exactly my point. They have to increase the the reimbursement soon.

This week's FG story is much shorter. They'd had a hard time filling last week's dinner shop at one of the locations I do regularly (but close to a half hour away), and they had called me several times, but I didn't want to make a special trip to do it (I would have considered it for a lunch, and I even was in the area one day at the time for a lunch shop). Some idiot had taken this week's lunch shop last week, before the price even went above $9. I got a call today asking me to do the coming week's dinner shop, and they offered me $22 right off the bat and any day I wanted through next Wednesday, except for Friday (which is obviously when the lunch shop was being done). I told her that I'd take it for $25 and would go next Monday. She put in the request and it got approved.

I have another shop in the area that I was supposed to do on Friday and really prefer to do both at the same time, so I'll just reschedule that one to Monday.

I was really surprised that they agreed to go to $25 so early in the week. I suspect they finally got smart and realized what they went through to get the other one filled this week.
I wasn't as lucky. A location I did for $25 was offered for $18. He would not go any higher.

Who called you? I was getting called by the US scheduler. Don't know her name.
