FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

I made an offer of $20 for a location I've gotten more for before, and it was rejected. They appear to be tightening the purse strings.

Yup, that is my experience with all of the shops from this MSC recently, which is unfortunate.
I just did a late shop Friday night (30 minutes before closing), called to confirm they were opened and they said until 10pm. When I got there at 9:20 everything was wide open I walked in and they said ‘well we’re closing early due to weather.’ No snow on ground whatsoever yet. I better get half of my promised pay for making the trip. We’ll see.
They just didn’t want to work anymore that night because it was slow.
I hope you had a typo. 30 minutes before closing means that you can not enter until 9:30 PM. I always wait a few more minutes in case their cash register time is off. Since you didn't order, there is no receipt. I hope that you reported your arrival as being after 9:30 PM.

Edited to add: I would have also taken a photo with the time and date on it. In fact, in such circumstances, I use an app called Time and Date since it puts the date, the time, and the location (either a street address or GPS coordinates) right on the photograph.

I got email from them for $18. After that checked the board: it was listed for the same price. I got call from scheduler and she offered me the same $18. I told her that I do not need her assistance for such price, and can pick it up from the board. I stated that can do it for $20 (they paid me such fee before). She said she will be call me later. The shop still on the board for $18 and they extended the due day. However I was able to pick up another location with curbside for $20.

I just submitted a $29 fee and got it, just did it today. I guess you never know how desperate a certain location will get.

Wow congrats. Have you gotten that for the same location previously?

I'm surprised that they did not offer to put in the $20 request and let the supervisor decide. Their inconsistency is mind-boggling.

The CPI says "• If the shop requires a site visit to determine the location is closed, the Shop Fee will be changed to ½ the original amount, or $3, whichever is greater." so you may only get $4.50. Hopefully they won't do that.

Was the $29 shop another late night shop? They had one for $25 on the board in my area, while other shops were still $18.

I notice that the February delivery shops claim "Higher Reimbursement!!" but they're the same $15 for food that never got increased when they bumped the in-restaurant shop reimbursement to $14.20. The February reimbursement is $36, but that's because it includes a shake.
Almost embarrassed to say that I just took a delivery shop for the regular $5 fee. I had hoped to wait until it got to $10, but today was a good day to get a FG delivery, and at least it has the shake and the reimbursement mostly covers a small burger, small fries and water (only go over by a quarter or so). Plus, they don't negotiate on delivery shop fees anyway, so taking it for this price will not affect my future shop fees.

If this post shows up a second time, my apologies, the first time I posted it claimed that the thread was moderated. Odd.

Is anyone else only getting Thursday, 2/3 as an option when trying to schedule a Five Guys shop for this week?

I noticed that they had screwed up creating this week's shops a couple of weeks ago. i guess they haven't noticed and fixed it yet.
Had an interesting delivery shop today. They gave me three shakes instead of one. Made up for the $5 fee!
Should have waited another day for the delivery shop to go up, they're now $10. And this week's shops seem to have their dates fixed.

Also, their new "strategy" of not raising shops past $18 doesn't seem to be working well, as there's one location in my area that still has both of last week's shops left. And they usually get taken by now.
How did that happen?

That is a very good question. The FG receipt taped to the bag showed a single shake. I had ordered it with a bunch of ingredients, including Reese's Cups (which was new to me), Oreo pieces/creme and whipped cream. The DoorDash driver delivered a drink holder with three shakes. Only one was close to correct, it had Oreo pieces and whipped cream, but still no Reese's Cups (which means they got dinged for both extra items and an incorrect order). The other two seemed to just be chocolate with no whipped cream. Maybe they made a mistake when making it and gave it to me? But you'd think there would only be one bad one in that case. I debated asking the driver if that was correct, but they only do a single order at a time, so it could not have been someone else's (I guess I could have offered her one of them).

The shop got approved, so the MSC had no problem with the shakes.

Also noticed that the bottled water I ordered was the Acme store brand rather than Dasani that I usually get. Maybe they ran out and went to the supermarket in the same shopping center they're located in? Odd. I did not mention it in the report, but they can see it in the photo if they're interested.

I have 3 consecutive days of $18 fee lunch shops that I got from the board. This is much easier than negotiating with schedulers or $25 MAOs that don't get approved. I'm going for the guaranteed $18 from now on.

I did one today for only $16. I usually wait for more but I felt like a 5 Guys burger and the place is usually in tip top shape. It's also one of the few that I can get a Little Cheeseburger and stay under reimbursement. Total came in at $14.15. Most around here are well over $15, so they require a higher fee for moi, if I go at all.

When are they going to have more phone/online shops? I refuse to do the long reports for walk-in orders. I haven't seen the phone call/online order shops, or maybe people scoop them up real fast. I think even at $20, I don't enjoy all the nonsense questions asked for in in-person visit.

My wife had a delivery shop this weekend, and she also got some off-brand bottled water instead of Dasani. She didn't mark off on the report for it, but she did call the delivery company and complain about paying almost $3 for an off brand LOL. They credited her back for it.
Good plan. I’ve enjoyed the bonuses as much as anyone else. Holding out for two to three times the going rate, and getting it for several months now. However, some of the MSCs, including this one, are showing signs that this is not sustainable.

It's not sustainable. Also, I notice that the schedulers have caps on their fees and Samantha matches that fee.

I was thinking about this today also. I picked up and $18 MAO for $24 about an hour from home. I started at $30 and came down twice before the $24 was accepted.

In makes sense to get two $24 shops each month than to hold out for one $30 shop when they get really desperate.

Yeah, they OK'd a $20 make-an-offer fee for me on an online order shop last weekend but shot down my $20 MAO on an $18 dine-in at another location. It's still on there so I may take it for tomorrow at $18 because it's relatively close to me. Not sure yet though.
Did 5 guys change the MSC they go thru or they still with the same one? I didnt see ANY shops available thus far this year which made me think they changed companies they use given the chatter here.
